beat it. Still hate the end boss and I dread having to do it again.

Only took me an hour or so to get back to Genichiro, though

Gratz, and yeah, The NG+ doesn't start to get hard again until The owl, even The corrupted monk is a push over legit fighting him. I'm on the Owl currently and might go for the shura ending, get all bosses trophy and move onto another game, yet something tells me thst wkn't be so simple as Assassins creed Odessy, The surge and Yakuza all feel a generation old after playing a game of this high quality and artistic standard. Ass creed in particular feels like a mobile generic version of The witcher 3.

Yeah, after playing some games from the last few years I'm kinda shocked at how boring and simplistic so many AAA titles are most of the time. Why play something like Assassin's Creed - which has the same basic gameplay now as it did a decade ago - when I could be playing something with such an intricate, difficult battle system as Sekiro? Why play crap like Call of Duty when I could be playing Red Dead Redemption? There are certainly places for those bland, generic, cookie-cutter AAA games in the market, but there really is so goddamn much choice in the medium that I could never see a loot-box or microtransation and still never catch up with the games I wanna play.

As for me, I'm almost disappointed in how easy the game is, now. I don't think the game is easy, persay, but after beating Isshin I started NG+ and I don't think I've died once. I haven't died on ANY of the bosses yet - miniboss or full boss - and while I think I did get knocked down a few times (died once), I came back and just returned to the idol.

Despite dying 50+ times on Lady Butterfly on my first go-'round, I bet her first time with ease this time. Like, I killed her and Juzou in the same life without resting. I beat every miniboss without dying, including The Shinobi Hunter, Seven Blades Samurai, and Snake Eyes Shirahagi - each on my first try, and I even beat Gyobu, Lady Butterfly, and Genichiro on my first attempts. Oh, and I absolutely WRECKED the blazing Bull and Centipede Giraffe without getting hit. Now that I think about it, the only boss I've died at so far was headless. Fuck headless. I will be avoiding HEadless in the future, but as it turns out I did in fact die a handfull of times on NG+.

My first time through was your basic Immortal Severance playthrough. I got all of the gourd seeds, all but two of the prayer beads, all of the Lapis Lazuli I could (allowing me to upgrade 2/4 of the final prosthetic upgrades), and did basically everything I could. My plan is to do this NG+, get to right before the owl and make a save-copy so I can do the Shura ending, get the missable boss trophy (Emma), as well as the Shura ending trophy, then reload the save and go through to the Purification ending where I'll get the lapis Lazuli for making the final upgrades, the final two prayer beads, and Owl (Father) Trophies. I figure by the end of this playthrough I'll get the 'get all skill unlocks' trophy while I'm at it.

I intend to platinum this, so by this point all I'll have left is the 'dragon' ending, which is apparently BY FAR the hardest ending to get. Won't be too hard knowing I'm just playing through quickly, though.

I am still scared as fuck for my spirit when I have to fight Owl, Owl(Father), and Isshin on NG+ though. However, on the other hand, I'm finding the game so much easier this time around maybe it won't be all bad? I haven't even USED the new memories to increase my strength since starting NG+, got 3 banked and can't be arsed to use them since I'm still wrecking everything.

The game is luring me into a false sense of security, I know it.

Still love it, even if I absolutely HAAAATE that last boss. Like, I genuinely don't like it; unlike other bosses that I thought were brilliant in retrospect, I still hate Isshin; maybe I'm just not good enough? I don't think it's a poorly designed boss, but I do think it's way too much andI just can't learn in that fight, unlike the others. LAdy Butterfly taught me timing, dodging, proper Shuriken use, deflection, and kiting, The Shinobi hunter taught me Mikiri, Blazing Bull and Gyobu taight me arena combat and beast fighting, etc. I am redoing them all, learning how to adapt, and it feels good because it's clear I've learned. I love it, but at the same time I do fear Isshin.

Someone hold me and tell me I'm a good burd!

You think there´ll be a Bloodborne 2?...I really want it, but I remember a thread on Era about the Sekiro reveal at E3 last year and there was a verified insider who said that there were no plans for a BB sequel but didn´t rule out the possibility...that was June last year so who knows if things have changed or will change.

They'd be silly not to do BB2, Both Sony and From, perhaps they won't but with so many people asking for it and it a pretty much guaranteed 2mil +, I'd be very surprised if they aren't already half way done with the game.

""In a new video posted by the excellent VaatiVidya, the YouTube star and big Souls fan suggests that From Software could be readying a sequel or prequel to Bloodborne.

As previously reported, From Software PSVR title Deracine features an item referred to as the Fiona Doll, which contains an interesting nod to Bloodborne.

The item description reads: "A doll of the stone girl Fiona, who appears in the unfinished tale. When a person has a bad dream, Fiona appears and helps them flee."

The doll is also performing the 'Make Contact' gesture, which suggests that the Bloodborne tale isn't over.""

If you have 10 min, watch it, very well done and fascinating.

 I can see Bloodborne2 as a first generation PS5 Game :D

They already said many times that they were sorry for even putting that easter egg in because you guys keep demanding that it be confirmation of BB2 ...

Yep, we know it's not a confirmation, and the guy in the video says it clearly.  It was a cool video though, and fascinating for me.

  I really hope BB2 will be a 1st gen PS5 Title ! :)

I must actually hate myself on some deep level beyond my grasp.

I fired up Bloodborne recently, mostly just so I can reclaim some of the glory of the genre, but it won't here. I'm going to continue onto some more impactful bosses and see if it is infant way satisfying or if I can get this shadow of Owl (father) that keeps hanging over my head to dissipate. Yes I take this shit way too seriously.

On a side note, been parrying attacks like an absolute pro, something I could only ever read and do on bosses in BB before. Also, the frame rate is absolute ads and the resolution could do with a remastering, already with just 4 years. Looks like a ps3 game after so many 4k 45-60fps titles recently it's super hard to adjust and I can't tell if it is an hindrance to my success.

Haha, I did the same thing, but with DS3. I have it on PC though compared to Sekiro on PS4 Pro, so I actually noticed an upgrade in performance and resolution. It was very hard to get used to having such a small stamina bar, as opposed to being able to swing and run around as much as I liked. Not having a good jump mechanic was also difficult to get used to. It took a few encounters to get back into the habit of dodge rolling again.

But that was only very briefly (maybe an hour).

What I have actually been playing recently is Dragon Quest 11 and Octopath Traveler. I still have not beaten DQ11 yet, but I hit 127 hours of playtime, and am approaching the end of the game.

In Octopath, Chapter 1 was finished with every character last I picked it up, and I managed to finish my first two story arcs for the second chapter, as well as acquired three sub jobs.

I did download the Surge and I actually played for a few hours and got to the second area of the game. The combat is very clunky, and it doesn't help that I'm fighting robots. The weapons all feel fairly week, but I did appreciate the depth in terms of stats and character progression. It's odd because I enjoyed Lords of the Fallen enough to purchase it after first renting it, and I finished the entire game, but this game feels like a step back (it's very possible it's coming off the heels of Sekiro that makes it seem worse than it actually is, but I don't want to hate on it too much).

There's still a bit of a void after playing Sekiro; I hadn't enjoyed a game so much in a long time (well, since the last FromSoft game, really).

Yeah bloodborne ip is owned by sony so it is to be expected they will use it to boost console sales for next gen.

Bolded:Randomly met him while he was playing a lowlevel char in allodsonline mmo a good time ago,he seemed to be hyped for dark souls remastered back then.

Mortal Kombat XI and Days Gone are late April releases, and I'll likely be getting both of them. That is a few weeks away, however.

In the meantime, I would really like to finally finish Dragon Quest 11. It was last September that it released, and I haven't put the game down for more than a few weeks. It's one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. Extremely polished, well balanced, and charming.

Cuphead is releasing this month on Switch, and that has a similar "Soulslike" feeling of overcoming a difficult obstacle with it's challenging boss fights. I originally played this on PC, and local co-op is a pain on PC, so I look forward to the Switch release.

Do you have a Switch, John? I feel like I've asked you this before, but I don't remember. I feel like I remember seeing you post about BotW, but my memory is crap lol.

Oh that good old massively difficult boss that you can get half way through the last phase and no further. I really must be fucked up or something cause this game must be some form of cutting and not the weight loss kind. All of this pain for that brief momentary ejaculation of gamer pride and accomplishment.

I will beat this boss and then I'll beat off to a photoshopped picture of Hidetaka Miyazaki being stung by a thousand bees.

You are a strange man.

As little as I get to play this game, I have just beaten Genichiro. That there was satisfying. I feel like the fight taught me how to really play the game.

It's a brilliant fight, best fight in the game for me and probably the best of Soulsborne entirety in retrospect.

It was a very fun fight, though super difficult at first.  Still, took me about 15 tries or so before I got it.  Second form was always what destroyed me until I got the hang of using the mikiri on his jumping thrust attack.
