Forums - General Discussion - "Leaving Neverland": Do you think Michael Jackson is Innocent?

Thriller and Invincible or Bad and Dangerous

Good guy, wrongly accused 54 51.43%

Talented Bad guy 28 26.67%

A little of both. 23 21.90%

Total:105

MJ clearly had mental health issues that were never addressed or taken seriously by anyone.

He was groomed from an early age by his dad, he never had a regular child's life, and he was never comfortable in his body or with his identity - hence the plastic surgeries and skin whitening.

The man is dead and cannot defend himself. He may or may not have done shit, but I put the largest blame on the parents of anything did happen.

Ultimately, as a parent, if you had heard some shit, you wouldn't care if its rumours etc. This is your child your speaking off and I wouldn't let my child anywhere near any such persons home. For parents to okay it, it is for me as bad and stupid as committing the act itself, by sending their child to the dragons den. MJ had his mental health, but what excuse to the parents have other than stupidity and greed?

It seems like people lose all sense of logic when it comes to celebrities. You even see it now when women worship singers, actors and even reality TV stars.

Hello everyone,,
honestly before the documentary I was on the fence about MJ, afterwards and doing a bit of research on guys making the claim (who happen to being suing the estate for 100s of millions) I now believe he's innocent. The documentary was extremely one sided and if you were to only watch it and not do any further digging, its easy to fall prey to their compelling and graphic story....

There are so many holes in their story upon further research. One factoid that sticks out in my mind is Safechucks's mother claiming she was so happy when she learned MJ passed. "I was so glad he wouldnt be able to hurt anymore children". Um yeah MJ died in 2009, but Safechuck claims he didn't realize he was abused until 2013. Is she a time traveler???

Thank you my dear. FBI knows better, anything else is just an easy road for cheap money and publicity.

Let his soul rest in peace. Shame and horror to those who seek to capitalize on a man who is not here to defend himself, and destroy his legacy of endless child donations.

Also depressing how fast people draw conclusions based on bad accusations, but very easily forget real facts of how much good one has done. It's not just the media, it's the society all to blame for this. This kind of bullshit does not encourage any celebrity to do any good for this world.

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

I don't know man, you know he made Thriller.

Thriller.

Some of those stories definitely seemed a bit shady, but.. ultimately it's documented proof basically that the guy slept alone, in the same bed as some of these children. And there's definitely this weird closeness with him and some of the kids even if you watch some video. There's definitely SOMETHING that went down. Even if the doc has some questionable stuff in it, doesn't discount the weird stuff we HAVE seen and heard, either directly or second hand.

Now do I think it's not as "bad" as some have claimed and some have exploited his weird closeness to children to lie and collect their 15 mins of fame & possibly some payoffs? Probably. Do I think MJ is absolutely innocent of ****ing around with kids in SOME way, or at the very least acting extremely inappropriate? No, I truly don't based off what I've seen and heard.

You could make the argument that MJ was a weird guy deprived of a childhood, which I don't discount, but that's a different story, and ultimately doesn't excuse you actions as an adult.

What do you mean by "the FBI knows better"? To my knowledge they never declared him innocent. The very fact that the FBI got involved indicates that this was a serious matter. I imagine it's fairly difficult to convict a rich man like Michael Jackson for crimes committed many years earlier. America is the land of the free, and people are well protected from being convicted of a crime unless it can be almost certainly proven (in most cases, I should say). I don't know the specific fallacy that you are using here, but it seems like you are trying to make it look like the FBI is on MJ's side, and thus, your side.

Me personally... I don't know what to think. I suppose I would have to do my research. I haven't seen the film in question, and all I know about the case is what I've heard from the media. If I had to make the call, I would imagine that he did, in fact, molest children. However, I can't be certain enough so as to put a man behind bars for it (with my aforementioned limited knowledge). So the judge/jury made the logical decision. It doesn't mean they believed him to be innocent, but that he wasn't absolutely guilty. That's all we can say.

I suppose it's likely that many people were trying to capitalize with a false accusation, but that doesn't mean that all of them are.

But why do you speak like you know the truth? Real people came forward and accused the man of child molestation. Multiple people. You speak as though it is factual information that these accusations are false.

The last thing I want to discuss is that you seem sort of unfair in your last sentence. You say that "this kind of bullshit does not encourage any celebrity to do any good for this world". First of all, I can't make much sense of what you mean by this. Maybe if you provide an example I would see what you mean. I can't draw a correlation between the MJ case and why any given celebrity would be afraid of doing good for the world.

If anything, I think the bigger issue is the exact opposite. Many instances of child molestation never see the light of day. The victim is often embarrassed or afraid of speaking up. I can actually see a better argument being made to say that the MJ case has made it more difficult for these victims to want to speak up.

Side Note: I'm just participating in discussion with you. I have nothing against you, and I can appreciate a person with strong opinions like yourself.

Why is there such a large thread here for someone who fucked little kids? Lets not become pedo apologists like Resetera.

I don't think people who believe in Michael Jackson's innocence are "pedo apologists." If I ever believed he actually did such a thing, I wouldn't be here.

What kind of question is this? The man was arguably the biggest celebrity of all time and this was big news back when I made the thread. None of us can know for sure if the man was guilty or innocent so we had a discussion. You don't like big threads?
