I was exclusively using the PS4 and PS Vita browsers up until the 2nd half of 2018. As support for those is starting to drop rapidly, I ended up moving to XBO X for the 2nd half of 2018.

Now in 2019, I have broke down and bought a PC and Smartphone. I am using Firefox, and sometimes Edge on both. Havn't really touched the Consoles or the Vita since I got the PC and Smartphone.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Same on all counts. I assume we can thank @TalonMan for the poll result feature.

The idea was suggested by @super_etecoon in the web dev thread - I thought it was a neat idea and implemented. That said, if you're just looking at Machina's initial post (with the Firefox poll result in 'red'), then you're only seeing Machina's original poll response since he just copy/pasted the results to this thread.

You'd need to go to the actual original poll thread that's listed in the OP, to see what you had voted back then...    ...that is, of course, if you were here 9yrs ago and voted in the first place.

Thanks for the shoutout, @TalonMan.  It sure is a handy feature. And here's a poll I wish I had voted in, because then I would have known for sure what I chose.  I'm pretty sure, however, that I've been using Chrome since '07 or '08.  Firefox was my go to, but I'm sure the attacks VGC was under at the time made me make the switch.

I have noticed Firefox going through a resurgence these days.  Wonder what they're doing right.

Firefox mostly. Google knows enough about me already :p
I use Chrome for Imgur since for some reason gifs won't upload there correctly with Firefox.

Same here. I also believe FF got a lot better in the last couple of years

God bless You.

did you know about this regarding google knowing things about us... it's fairly nuts, but how a phone will only react when it hears a phrase like "okay google" but all the other voice it listens to as well and basically when you install apps on the phone they can trigger different reactions to different conversations they listen in on, it's fairly scary but sadly it's the price of technology, we are now walking around with a device collecting advertising data for companies which is worth way too much to pass up on.

With this in mind, I decided to try an experiment. Twice a day for five days, I tried saying a bunch of phrases that could theoretically be used as triggers. Phrases like I’m thinking about going back to uni and I need some cheap shirts for work. Then I carefully monitored the sponsored posts on Facebook for any changes.

I'd never seen this ad for "quality clothing" until I told my phone I needed shirts

The changes came literally overnight. Suddenly I was being told mid-semester courses at various universities, and how certain brands were offering cheap clothing. A private conversation with a friend about how I’d run out of data led to an ad about cheap 20 GB data plans. And although they were all good deals, the whole thing was eye-opening and utterly terrifying."

Try it yourself, me and a buddy were talking about various cars we loved the designs of and then when he went to his phone the adverts in facebook were telling him about the local Audi dealership, very much hadn't googled any of the cars we were just having a conversation about them, his phone just decided it would see if he wanted to splash out on what he was talking about.

Really? OMG

I never turn those voice assistants on, tho.

I use Firefox except for when something's broken, in which case I use Chrome. It's rare but it does happen.

I'm not a huge fan of Firefox, but it's both open-source and fairly trustworthy. Lots of browsers are one or the other but I think Firefox might be the only bigger one that's both. If Vivaldi was open-source, there would be a good chance of me using it though since it seems like a pretty neat browser.

It doesn't matter, the voice assistants being turned off just means the phone wont react to you saying "ok google" try it yourself sometime, it's funny how fast things like facebook will change adverts if you talk about some really strange subject, go for something you don't normally talk about, say a brand of cars or doing a certain activity, one that stood out to me was when I was talking about going for glasses or contacts, every damn add on my phone was about getting laser eye surgery for the next 2 weeks.

Apps will listen to "non trigger" data, was a big part of the finds of that article, non trigger data = everything you say except for "okay google"

What? I'm astonished. My phone is corporate bloodsucking spy and nobody's doing anything against it?

I use iPhone tho and I heard Apple has said Siri isn't listening at all times, can I trust them?
