Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hollow Knight: Silksong announced for PC and Switch

Holy shit a whole new game? I need to get back to finishing the original now.

So it's no longer DLC and stand alone, the original sold 2.8m from what I've heard. It's the best Metroidvania game of recent times so if Silk Song is just as good as a stand alone game then it's fully welcomed.

That's pretty cool. I disagree with some of their design choices, but by and large the team made a pretty good game, and I'm willing to roll the dice on this one.

The original Hollow Knight sold 250k in 2 weeks on Switch, so I'm not surprised at the switch priority on the consoles.

I thought the Hornet dlc was just gonna be playable Hornet with a few new areas to mess around in, but a whole new game holy shiet! Was already sold, but now insta sold!

Guess I better get back to finishing Godmaster.

I'm so glad Hollow Knight exists btw, now people can shut up about a certain other knight when it comes to indie games.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

It was only going to be that but the original game did so well and they likely figured Hornet being a different character to the Knight whose task has already been fulfilled they may as well turn Silk Song into its own game instead of being a dlc chapter to fully flesh things out and start what can be a consistent series.

OT: Definitely looking forward to this! Seems like a great opportunity for them to get even more creative with enemy and world design.
