Played some campaign and it's alright. Definitely not worth a 60 more like a 70.

Something keeps going wrong at MS studios even if it's not always a disaster and they need to fix that going into next gen and their new initiatives and ventures so they can fullfil the best of their potential, figure out what the he'll Sony and Nintendo actually do networking and nurturing studios and teams and recreate it, hopefully.

None of the studios who worked on Crackdown 3 are owned by Microsoft. I get what you're saying though.

Yeah, this might be why MS is buying studios.

Their results with 3rd party studios are often underwhelming. Playground being a great exception but they were building games using Forza content.

Not that I care about crackdown in the slightest but I'm really surprised by this thinking about it now post launch. They could easily have had at least a Second Son level game or better while bridging the gap between the 00's and this decade without slipping to far to into either, as to why they went fully with the 00's style is odd unless they just didn't have the skill or were mismanaged. I mean, they don't need to be creative here, it's all been done already and not just on the console competition but on Xbox and PC too with third party games, all they had to do was mix and match the best that fits with the Crackdown formula, as the puzzle pieces have already been set out for them yet they didn't and still developed it to no clear high standard. Perhaps they are scared of loosing core Xbox fans by evolving the xbox flavour or just don't know what their fans want from xbox going into future games... or lack the talent. There is no reason I can see that games going into development in or after 2015 or so can't be coming out of the oven this year or next in tip top perfect states.

Well, good thing the game isnt made by a Microsoft Studio, then. Though agreed, game looks feels like one of those early open worlds with not that much depth or detail, which was fine last gen, but below standards this gen. The 7/10 "Saints Row" type world just doesnt fly anymore.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Gears 5 will release this year.  Forza Motorsports 8 the next Halo game and the other game being developed by Playground Games will more then likely be cross generation launch titles.

Halo 5 at launch was xbox one exclusive right? It didn't exactly shift a ton of consoles. If the next one is one xbox one, xbox x, next xbox and pc I can't see it shifting many next gen xboxs at all.

Most launch games don't sell a lot or shift a lot of consoles the only exception to that rule is Mario 64 which ended up being the best selling game for that console.  That is due to two key facts about that game it always was one of the best games for that console and it stayed in production throughout the entire life of the N64.

Super Mario World did well on the Super Nintendo.

Zelda did well for the Switch as well... In-fact it seems to be a common thing with Nintendo console launches that they have a launch game that sells well.

I've been having enjoying the game so far. Single player is exactly what I was wanting out of a Crackdown game. What's funny is, for how many people criticized the graphics, I think it's one of the best parts about it. I love the colors and visuals of the world. I haven't ran into any performance issues or glitches. Gameplay is solid. Weapons are varied and each have a uniqueness to them. It's a very well polished single player.

Multiplayer on the other hand, I don't care for at all. Destruction is okay. There is zero progress or rewarding aspect of it besides winning. They should have just scrapped it, and went with a battle royal mode in the main city instead.

Haven’t even tried the MP outside of the technical test and I agree with what you said. Sucks that reviewers expected something else but I’m more than happy for Crackdown 1.5 and graphically the game nails the Crackdown style.

Ive been surprised at how good the platforming is.

The technical test and the final version are basically the same, but with the final version having 2 game modes and 2 or 3 extra maps. Everything else is the same, which is disappointing. Single player is exactly what I wanted and expected.

Nah, it's pretty great actually, fantastic exclusives, game pass and lots of retro released has made the X1X one of my favorite game systems of all time (Sega Saturn reigns supreme 🙂).

What fantastic exclusives? I'm not saying that as a jab, I genuinely want to know. OF the past four 'exclusives' (which I have to use air quotes for since PC), three of them were massive disappointments. Last year had Sea of Thieves (near universal disappointment), State of Decay (Glitchy shoddy, cobbled-together mess), and Forza Horizon 4 (One glowing beacon in the wastes.) and so far This year has Crackdown (early reviews have it pegged at WORSE than Sea of Thieves or State of Decay.)

So I'm genuinely curious what exclusives you're talking about because the console has been failing miserably in that department and that's pretty universally agreed upon.

Yeah, I know it's important to some people to claim that games aren't exclusives when they are also on PC, yet they are exclusives since you don't have then on PS or Nintendo. State of Decay and FH4 are great games (I would even say FH4 is astounding, the best driver this generation),

I have sunk more time on Halo 5 than any other Halo game ever, Ori is IMO the best Metroidvania game ever released and I can't wait for a sequel to Cuphead. And these are only a small portion of the great games released, because with all the 360-titles, Game Pass-titles and free games, I don't have time to play all the fantastic stuff released.

I love my Switch as well and PS4 seems to be a great console as well, but X1X is a more complete package IMO, and I hope the next generation will continue with backwards compatibility.

Forgot about those two same rules applies to those games also and with Super Mario World bundles help out a lot with the high total sales numbers that is how I got my copy of the game.

Love the art style, and it being a throw back to simplistic fun sounds great too but looking at videos it does feel like they could invested in more gameplay mechanics and a bit more world building. Hope it does well in spite of its relatively poor reception, it actually seems like quite well polished title just lacking in a bit of gameplay depth.

Watching this made me crave Jet Set Radio 3 :'(
