Though a lot of people won't appreciate the jump for a while. The early years of PS4/XBO there were many saying "Diminishing returns", "Not a generational leap!" etc.

Now looking at games like Horizon and God of War, the leap is massive.

I expect many will say the improvement with PS5/XBX is minor.

The leap is massive over the base XBox One and PS4, the CPU, GPU, SSD, Raytracing, etc; but as you said, it will take time to squeeze the new beasts and see the best from these machines.

I really can't wait for february, and I'm smelling a more powerful PS5 VS XBox.  My two cents.

As soon as we see official specs my question will be how big is the leap from base ps4 to ps5 compared to what it was from ps3 to ps4.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

Thoughts ?

I think it's fake, probably based on this rumored devkit for Xbox series X that popped up again and that PS5 will be above 12TF.

Looks though that both consoles will indeed be above 12TF, the 12TF number for Xbox series X has been knowned for a while. And Colin McCarthy, Andrew Reiner and the verified insider all said PS5 will be above.

If we look at possible CU config and the rumored clock-speeds from Gonzalo/Flute/Oberon we basically looking at these numbers for PS5:

Oberon 12.288TF (48CU,2ghz) or 13.312TF (52CU,2ghz)

Gonzalo + Flute 11.980TF - 12.639TF (52CU, 1.8ghz-1.899ghz)

Basically PS5 will have 56CU's and 4/8 of them will be disable for yield improvement.

It's funny how we went from 10TF for both consoles to 12TF for Xbox and 9TF for PS5, now we are 12TF for boths consoles.

For memory I think Sony will have 16GB Vram at 572GB/s memory bandwidth speed + 4-6GB ddr4 and how Sony will deal with heat and lack of memory bandwidth for 12TF we should w8 for RDNA2 reveal.

It is funny just because you take all these rumors to seriously and claim they are final until they change again.

The 9.2 TF GPU could be, assuming PS5 would be out in 2019, then the plan has changed; at least what many believes. I'm ready to place a bet that PS5 will have a 12+ TF GPU.

Dude you're quoting a very old post from me, I haven't changed from 9.2TF, as to why PS5 TF jumps back and forth is because we have oberon leak and a very reliable leak saying PS5 die size is 300mm2 which matches oberon. But insiders saying PS5 is more powerful than Xbox one X which is at 12TF.

For me the predictions is over as Sony might wanna do a apple style event which they did with PS4 pro. Reveal the console 1-2 months before release and I'm not in the mood to speculate this whole year.

18GB Ram?

It's 9x 32-bit controllers at 16Gbps speed, this gives 572GB/s memory speed at 18GB Vram, the leak also says there will be an additional 4GB ddr4 Ram.

If it's accurate or not we shall see soon, it says Sony will put out a small trailer within 2 weeks and the reveal will be at 12 Feb, this leak was also removed from reddit.

I noticed Nate4Drake missed the SSD speed (5GB/s)

Why on earth would a console need/want 24GB RAM?

..........aaaaaand we're done.

Gddr controllers come in 64bit chunks. The only weird setup would be 8 2GB gddrams and 2 1GB gddrams. That doesn't make sense at all, using different memory types is just an unneccessary hassle to deal with with a measly 12% increase in size.

Why do people feel the need to toss "specs" around like there is no tomorrow? Sure by sheer chance, someone will get it right eventually, but why all this nonsense?
