Batman Arkham Knight was the last main entry in the Batman Arkham series. Lately, rumors are suggesting that a new Batman game is in development. Now, new details have leaked revealing the Batman Arkham Crisis.

The leak comes from an alleged playtester for the game. According to the leak, Batman Arkham Crisis is in development for over 2 years and will launch on 2019.

Furthermore, the game features Court Of Owls as the main antagonist. The leak suggests the reason why the game is called Batman Arkham Crisis is due to the Court Of Owls attacking Batman, Gotham City, and Bruce Wayne and creating a crisis in the process.

Also, the game aims to be the Game Of The Year 2019. This indicates that developers are carefully crafting a game that is perfect in every sense.

Moving ahead, the leaked game features a 12-act story with each act being one hour long. The game also features Dick Grayson but he leaves around act 3 in Batman Arkham Crisis and then we are introduced to Jason Todd around act 6.

here's a list of what the game includes...

  • 2 Years in development and will launch in 2019.
  • Court Of Owls is the main antagonist.
  • Will Be Revealed in March and will launch on October on Halloween midnight. Could Be delayed to November.
  • Aims to be GOTY 2019
  • A 12-act story with each act being 1 hour long.
  • A much more complex story.
  • Gotham City features a day/night cycle and is 1.7x bigger than GTA V.
  • Batwing will replace the Batmobile. It can be used in combat or as a mode of transportation.
  • Features co-op multiplayer but not integrated into the main story. Co-op will be playable for some side missions.
  • Side quests have been dramatically changed and won’t be 15 minutes long. Each side quest features 3-hours of story.
  • No more Riddler trophies. They have been replaced with 31 complex challenges.
So this is a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt and the source is someoone who said they play tested the game. but i though it's be interesting to discuss the detail of it. Sounds kind of interesting.

NO MORE RIDDLER TROPHIES WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

A two year development window, but 1.7 times bigger than GTA and with side-quests that are supposedly "3 hours long"?

This will either be the most barren open-world game or there's going to be a ton of new ways to riddle (heh) the world with low-effort content. I guess that's pretty standard for open world games, though. I really don't think this would be a big game of the year contender, at least based on the rumor thus far. But we'll see, hopefully it's at least more interesting than the past two games.

Sweet. Im ready for a new Arkham game. Didn't feel Spider-Man, so this would be great.

Yeah, this seems fake to me. A map that size would be stupidly big for a game with a 12 hour main story, unless they fill it with loads of repetitive side content. They think they can win GOTY 2019 with a game like that?

Is it supposedly by Rocksteady (Asylum/City/Knight) or WB Montreal (Origins)?

It says over 2 years and I'm assuming that's as of now so with an Oct/Nov release that's about 3 years. It also says EACH side quest is 3 hours of story.

Rocksteady have said multiple times that they are working on a new IP, so I have to guess it is WB Montreal.

I was expecting it may be as of now as well, but even then I question how great of a game they can make in that time frame with goals as ambitious as are currently speculated.

I know that it says 3 hours of story for each side quest. The reason I said it would be barren is because side-quests which are as long as 3 hours require a lot of time to make, especially if they use that length appropriately and don't pad it out. I don't think they would be able to make a lot of side-quests under those conditions, even in the span of three years and with a large staff. With an open world that's 1.7 times bigger than GTAV's, that means that a lot of space is either A ) going to waste or B ) isn't being used to contain unique quests, but rather as a detour in the middle of said quest. I don't think either scenario is very charitable.

If "over 2 years" is closer to 2 1/2 - 3 years, then I admit that my concerns might be a bit overblown. It's just speculation anyways

I wonder what engine it will use. (modified) UE3 like Arkham Knight, first UE4 Batman game or something entirely different.
