Mighty impressive I would say.

Seems fair, Switch is making the best selling title for most franchise on the plateform and on top of that in a really short time. On the software chart ending 15th on this site, Zelda reached 9 million already and Mario odyssey 11 millions. Pokemon just passed 6 millions in a bit over a month, Smash is also over 6 million in 2 weeks and Mario party will top 4 million next week, already putting it comfortably at the 3rd position for the franchise in 11 weeks (excluding digital on top of that).. it could literally beat Mario party 8 and DS which both sit somewhere in the 8 millions.
That's just crazy to me. I said before the switch launched that the nintendo fanbase was more likely to buy more games on switch cause they have only 1 of the classics to buy instead of 2 consoles and 2 mario kart etc. And i think this is one of the factors.

if you want to know what it is with digital, Nintendo official numbers as of sept 30 has Mario Odyssey at 12.17, Mario Kart at 11.71 and Zelda at 10.28.  over 3 months old but should give you an idea of were they at with digital

In less than 2 weeks we'll get updated numbers from Nintendo, those should paint a clearer picture.

That’s really good. Handheld hardware sales with home console software is a recipe to success

So Nintendo spoke people is also on the let's call home console or handheld depending on the situation instead of always calling it a hybrid?

Well as a hybrid, it is both and therefore applies to either situation at any given time sooooo...

Example, they are talking about 1st party games.  These are Nintendo's console caliber games and therefore get classified as console software sales.  However you can play them portably, so Hybrid would work as well.

Many multiplats however have portability as the only real selling point (barring games with exclusive content) and therefore it is safe to say that this is the handheld version of these games.  Even so however, the core gameplay is exactly the same and the save files work as a console or on the go, so it can classified as a hybrid in this case as well.

Even if they don't make the 20 million forecast, ultimately the software sales will save them.

Afterall, a lot of those sales are first party, and that's bound to make them A LOT of money.

It's great to see Nintendo's effords paying off with sales. Now they just have to improve the value of their online service and they will have no real weak link this generation.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The Switch is a Hybrid.

But I'd say it's mostly a home console, than it is a handheld.

I've had to explain this many times, but I'm gonna try again. The $299 price point, games at $60, marketed at young adults(instead of children). Games with extensive campaigns. The Switch was shaped the whole way as a Home console primarily, that you can take anywhere. NOT as a handheld that you can connect to the TV.

I would say their signature handheld at the moment is the 3DS, still.
