Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Nintendo plans to release a Zelda game on Switch every year

That's not surprising, that's been the rule for a while now. 2D game, spinoff, remake, spinoff, 3D game, and so on.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Put every traditional 3D Zelda on the Switch and I'll buy every single one of them again. But give me Skyward Sword HD before porting the other ones.

I'll also get whatever the next 2D game is as long as it has the Zelda formula. So yeah, just give me more Zelda, Nintendo.

2013-Wind Waker HD/Link Between Worlds
2014-Hyrule Warriors
2015-Majora's Mask 3D/Triforce Heroes
2016-Twilight Princess HD/Warriors Legend
2017-Breath of the Wild
2018-Hyrule Warriors DX

There has been at least 1 Zelda game every year since 2013 so this isn't a surprise, either a Skyward Sword HD or new 2D entry is my guess.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Haha, so basically what they've been doing most of the time since Ocarina of Time. There's only been 4 years since then where no new Zelda, remake, or spinoff has been released. If we're talking core series, those are rare, usually only 3-5 years, and those are the important ones. If we're talking about flagship Zelda games, well, there was a 19-year gap between Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, and a 7-year gap between Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time.

I'd really enjoy a Zelda 2 style title. Overhead world map with 2D sidescrolling and lots of towns. Although bump up the controls to something like Shovel Knight. Although, I'd love something along the lines of Muramasa the Demon Blade or Hollow Knight.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Wouldnt be unsual. As already said, one Zelda a year has been happening for a while now.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

That sounds horrible dont make zelda the next asscreed T_T

Adding skyward and twilight to the switch is great but other than that they should chill unless they remake the N64 games

Spinoffs? Eh. Here for the remakes though and hopefully more 2D goodness

I hope for new 2D Zelda next year.

2017: BotW

Nintendo has become the king of the retreads. I'm tired of it, frankly. Minor updates and ports are of little interest to me. I've owned almost every Nintendo system. So, I've played every one of the old games that I care about. I want new content, or true remakes of very old, great games.
