Forums - General Discussion - Neck tattoos?

What is your opinion on neck tattoos?

Do you think they still attract a certain stigma? Would you say someone with a neck tattoo is less likely to be hired for a job?

I've been considering getting one, but I don't want to do something that would affect my future job prospects.

I think a neck tattoo hinders you from getting certain Jobs since its visible most of the time. Even though tattoos are getting more accepted nowadays it surely will have a little affect on your job prospects.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

You are also living in the Netherlands so this is a good opinion to me :P

I think it's pretty ugly, but anyone should do what they want obviously.

What do I think of neck tattoos? Well if you get them done properly they can look amazing, had some guy come into my shop with a blue rose on his neck and the lines and shading were atrocious and he said he wished he never had it done, then again he only paid £20 for it which is just, well, yeah... maybe in the future I'll have one myself, I've already got two full sleeves and I'm planning on having something on my chest and upper back which will be starting next year, could lead up onto the neck but who knows, lol.

Tattoos are definitely becoming more socially acceptable now, I'm seeing a LOT more of them, especially on people around my age and younger, although there also still seems to be a stigma with the older folk and especially employers. I know my manager turned someone down for a job working here because she had tattoos on the backs of her hands, yet my manager is fine with me wearing tshirts (Short sleeve) with my full sleeves on show, and plenty of other people have a tattoo or two on their arms too.

It seems like sort of a gamble to be honest, and I think it's unfair how people are still treated based on appearance and not on their ability to do a job.

Absolutely disgusting IMO. Just look at man city's goal keeper and his hideous neck tattoo, my brother and I were just discussing this the other day

I will look it up now.

I think the stigma of tattoos is less than it used to be... but not when its in places like the neck, face or hands.

Not a good look

Not a good look at all. I'm not really a fan of tattoos in general though, I don't mind a single tattoo on a guy's upper arm or a small one above a girls hip or on her ankle or something as long as it is tasteful, but anything more than that (arm sleeves, tramp stamps, neck tattoos, etc.) is just too much imo.
