-Feels like they really had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for soundtrack nominations this year, this year didn't really have many standout, memorable game soundtracks sadly.

Despite this, my favorite soundtracks this year, Xenoblade 2 and Deltarune, didn't even make the list. Not including Deltarune makes sense but excluding Xenoblade 2 is downright criminal.

Xenoblade 2 is ineligible by nature. Any game that releases in December is basically guaranteed to be ignored by TGA on the promise that "it'll be eligible for next year!".

Which is sad because that means Smash may be ignored next year.

Damn most of the top nominated games are available on PS4, that's the proof that Playstation is the best platform choice for gaming!

Never heard of Celeste, they probably just didn't want to leave Nintendo out in the Game of the Year category.

Smash would be too big to ignore no? And I don't know any significant fighting games other than rumored MK that will drown it out in 2019.

Proof of subjectivity, not a fact by textbook definition, since it's entirely subjective to begin with anyway.

Do they still have a handheld category? Guess what platform we will never see at this category ever again. Hell, this entire event.

The soundtrack that stands out the most to me this year was Detroit's.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I´m so glad that Detroit: Become Human got 03 nominations in such a competitive year, with so many excellent games.

Although... I find it a bit weird that it was not nominated for Best Score/Music. The score of that game is outstanding. Each character has a different background music style, each one had a different composer with different goals and inspirtations. Anyway...

I hope at least Bryan DeChart wins best performance. He was fantastic handling Connor´s duality.
