Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Is Stupid For Ignoring Virtual Console on Switch

Alex Olney tells it like it is.

I'm sure we're all thinking the same things he is.

The way that things are now, it does look like this. But assuming they eventually add snes, N64, etc, the current service will be much better than the virtual console.

Agreed. I do not like game as a service.

Yeah, but I'm not sure about it when the app itself is called "NES", which probably means that if other systems are ever coming, they'll be separate. If they were to just add SNES and N64 into that same service, it'd be miles better than the VC ever was, never mind if they were to include more stuff like GB, GBA, GC, DS and Wii.

Nintendo's stupidity is pretty consistent. They simply do not recognize the value that their classic games have, hence why they were fine with selling the NES Classic for $60 when it should have been clear from the outset that a 30-games-package should have been at least $99.

There are no signs of Joy-Cons with d-pad either.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

It will not happen, but personally I would like Nintendo to do some kind of collection with its retro games like sega and other companies do. Take out something like Snes collection, N64 collection, gamecube collection, each one separately and in cartridge.

I was confused by that too, and with the whole service being called "Nintendo Switch Online"(So will it not carry on to the next console?), but I guess a simple re branding or multiple apps.

Same!! Why is the industry becoming so obsessed with this idiotic plan?!! *detonates C4 at an office building on Wall Street*

It'd make more sense to, I don't know, an NES Classic Edition 2 and SNES Classic Edition 2, both with entirely different libraries of games built-in.

I'm sure they have a reason though, whatever it may be.

I doubt it's a good reason.
