Forums - Sales Discussion - Red Dead Redemption 2 VS Black Ops 4 October 2018 NPD

Which Game will come on top in October 2018 NPD?

Red Dead Redemption 2 23 45.10%

Black Ops 4 22 43.14%

roblox 6 11.76%

Total:51

I think it's safe to say that Red Dead 2 will outsell Blops 4 this year, though will it's FW sales be enough to outsell 3 weeks of Black Ops 4 sales in the NPD report of October?
what do you guys think?

Nope.

Blackout is bigger than anyone expected, so this is very much in the realm of possibility.

Red dead will not outsell blackops at all

.... as much as I would like to see BOPS4 crash n' burn, it'll outsell RDR2 freaking easily simply.

I do think RDR2 will post acceptable sales, but if people expect GTAV level, it won't get near that.

October goes to Black ops IIII, easy.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be bigger, but not THAT bigger to have a bigger first week than 3 weeks of Black Ops IIII.

2020 predictions: NSW 21m, PS5 6m, XSX 4.5m, PS4 9m, XB1 3m
(PS5 and XSX predictions will most likely change after we know enough about them)

It's disconcerting to me that many people in this thread underestimate the popularity of Roblox.

Y’all underestimate Red Dead trust me + COD isn’t that powerful in 2018

COD because of release-date

Nothing to see here, move along

Same here

Funny thing would be if both would get beaten by another game - though I doubt any game releasing that month would have enough draw power to bea CoD.

It would need to strongly pick up the pace to even halfway keeping up with CoD. In fact, like I said in another thread, it's performance on Amazon and Gamestop feels pretty underwhelming so far and not (at least not yet) in line with the predictions of many fans. Mind you, this may change of course, but as much as I hear the fans shouting greatness is coming (and I don't doubt it will, considering the quality of the first one), I can't find nearly enough hype to cover their sales expectations
