But both you and me know that this won't help to improve the image. The damage is done. Nintendo is doomed. They should go 3rd party and/or sell all their IPs. It's inevitable.

Oh great, right after I ordered a micro SD card to back up my saves properly. Damn!

Right? Now that we finally knew how to use micro SD cards (because we were completely unable to figure that out in the 1.5 years from launch) boom here goes Nintendo and spoils it. Shame!

It would be funny when digital items were treated the same as physical

Auction off your saves etc to the highest bidder!

Why this outrage over companies having to take care of your crap forever? Take care of your own crap!

Six months, just as long as Sony and for a third of the cost.

People can be too quick to overreact when it comes Nintendo Switch Online.

To be fair, Nintendo wasn't really clear about the grace period.

There we go! Problem solved!

A third of the cost, 6 months grace just like SONY, and every other aspect where it was objectively worse it is now up to snuff with PSN, and I'm assuming XBL? That's pretty amazing. All for a third of the cost......Please. They're not suddenly on equal footing. The criticisms have been fair for the most part. Even this grace period thing....Nintendo didn't have their shit together, and couldn't provide clarification. It's like watching somebody try to kick water uphill. It's the only place they have to go with their online service, but it's very reasonable to assume that the climb up said hill will be done as stupidly as possible.

The price can even be lower when you do the Family membership! As low as $5 USD per year! CRAZY!!!

6 days, 6 months or 6 years doesn't matter.

The only important thing, imo, is getting a warning before they do so. Like when the six months is coming up, I hope that they send out and email saying "if you don't subscribe, your data will be deleted"

Also can you transfer your cloud saves off the cloud when your sub runs out? Or are cloud saves all just backups and you would have the most recent save on your system already?

The SD card only saves the digital games. If you want, it'll save your game recodings/pictures, too. Your actual game saves are still tied to the console.

I assume you're able to download and then locally back up your saves even if you're no longer subscribed? If so then 6 months seems like a reasonable amount of time for them to keep a hold of your data for "free".
