Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokemon Y used copy came with rare/event pokemon, what to do?

So I got an used copy of Pokemon Y shipped yesterday with my New 2DS, and for my surprise the previous owner left a 400+ hours save file on it filled with a lot of legendaries (even shiny versions of X and Y face pokemons) from all gens and even most of the event exclusive pokemons except Mew and Celebi.

The game doesn't seems to be hacked as he don't have multiple masterballs or anything like that and have traded a lot with players from all over the world, he even has a few pokemon named such as (no thanks, yes please, that's all I got) that he probably used to comunicate with players all over the world for trade.

Now I don't know if I just delete it and get to play or if I should try to save at least those rare pokemons for myself.

Though as I don't have another 3DS I wouldn't be able to change it to another pokemon game anyway, do I have a workaround for it? Will that paid pokemon bank app help?

How often are those mystic pokemon distributed? Can I get them here in Brazil as physical events just never happen here?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know how frequently these events are distributed in Brasil, but if you have your doubts, you can just try to trade the mons you want the most with someone, or just use the Pokebank (although that's a paid service).

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Are you sure they're not hacked?

If you want to keep them the Pokemon bank should work (never used it myself so can't say for sure), you could also temporarily trade them to someone you trust who could then give them back once you reset the save file.

As for when events happen, I believe most of the events these days are just digital download ones, so being in Brazil shouldn't impact that. Although while events are pretty regular any new events are likely to be for the newest games (Ultra Sun/Moon, although possibly Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee soon) rather than X/Y.

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Someone else would have to confirm, but I’m pretty sure PokeBank would let you transfer them to a new savefile.

Kinda sad to delete this person work, but maybe he shouldn't have sold it. I would at least try to save the legendaries

Nothing to see here, move along

I would keep the game untouched and buy another copy.

Is there a way to know if the game or pokemon is hacked? It doesn't look hacked to me, but who knows.

If I try to connect it to any internet battle or something can the game or my system be bricked or something?

Well, I can trade with other people online, right? Care to try it with me later?

Leave the save intact, buy another version of the game to play yourself. The copy you hold with that save is probably worth fsr more than you paid for it.
