Forums - Sony Discussion - What's your opinion of Spider-man so far?

So far...

I'm loving it. (Mindblown) 32 48.48%

Enjoying it 15 22.73%

It's ... decent. 7 10.61%

Have yet to play 5 7.58%

It's bad. 2 3.03%

It's terrible. 2 3.03%

Total:66

Are you, mind blown, simply enjoying it or are you disappointed?

How much have you played and I guess the question is did it live up to your own  hype or did it fail in some aspect for you?

Personally, I had little hype and expected ot to be a bland version of Infamous second son without the fancy power effects. I was mistaken, I'm really enjoying the game and besides for the towers, Ubisoft style map filler and what not I'm pretty impressed. Not an earth shattering achievment in gaming but not all games need to be GoW, this is simply a fun game with what seems to be a decent spiderman story thay lives up to the most recent films and perhaps even Toby Maguire films too.

No preload eh? And yeah, the download slowed yo a crawl yesterday evening? Guess that means people were hitting it hard.

It takes a lot of elements of other open world games, but I think it generally pulls them together quite well. I also like the range in enemy crime events...

At the moment I am doing the general thing I do with open world games, doing all the towers and collecting all the back packs...lol. It will make for a boring few hours, but I find it actually more fun doing it early on.

So far its meeting my expectations, fun game, even if I am still trying to get used to swinging around and fighting,

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

I haven't played it, but it sure seems popular on my PSN friends list. Lots of Spider-Man avatars. Lots of people playing it. Including some VGC'sers.

You gonna buy it or waiting for a price drop?

Funny though, near everyone on my friends list was playing it at midnight last night but no one is now. I'm not seeing much post launch hype either.

That's probably a good Idea, I just really wish they could have left on towers and just went with the fog clearing through exploration, like, the games is built around traversal at it's core, towers make no sense in 2018. At the very least one per district would havd been more than enough.

I'm waiting on Spider Man. Too many weird Japanese games to buy. :)

Early impressions (about 4 hours on PS4 Pro)

Graphically impressive. Colors really pop! Animation is fluid and smooth. Controls are great though they throw a lot at you at first. Music is great. Makes you feel like a superhero as it swells to a crescendo. Lots of fun little details, too. Peter is mostly charming even though he won't ever stop talking.

What I dislike:
Too much of that "Pipe Dream" knockoff mini game.
Goddam crime happens every few seconds. You barely take care of one crime before another comes over the police scanner. I guess you can ignore them but I can't. It's worse than Niko Bellic's cousin in GTA4!

Not quite loving it like an Arkham game but I'm just getting warmed up. I expect great things as the story progresses.

I was able to preload on Tuesday night. Got it fully downloaded on two different PS4s before the end of Wednesday.
