Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Dead Cells on Switch is outselling the PS4 by a factor of 4 to 1

You still dont get it.

If they want to play games on their switch, THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS!!!!

1. Buy 1st Party games

2. Buy 2nd Party Games

3. Buy 3rd Party Games

4. Buy Indie games

Its just that for you, you had no interest in buying the other games in option 1 2 and 3. So you went to 4. Soooo you had the option to not buy indie games.

Maybe you don't get it.

1st party games are mainly remaster in 2018.

3rd party games are mainly remaster and in some cases lazy ports.

Then there are indie games.

Why i'll have to pick remaster of games i've already played or that i can find at 1/4 the price elsewhere?

I don't know if you are a troll or not. Call me Sony defender for what? And after two sentences? Wow asd I'll play everywhere except pc. If the reason it's because you can't, or don't want to, get my point, the discussion for me is done, i don't want to lose any more time on this. Bye :)

Factually wrong. But nice narrative goalpost. indies just sell better on Switch because the installbase cares more. Simple as that. It would sell like this even with 20 triple A titles getting released on Switch and 0 on PS4 in the same month. Interest is what matters. Let's not make excuses.

Did you think that was a fact?

Name me 1 big game coming on Switch other then Smash Bros this holiday season.

Seems it was already answered by ALA. Looks like you got some time to think about yours.

Not like the Switch userbase has many games to choose from this year. I don't know it's almost crazy to think that the PS4 has a lot more high profile games this year than the Switch, I mean Dead Cells released just a few weeks after God of War.

I don't know how and why this warrants a thread, would the PS4 userbase be more likely to buy God of War and Far Cry 5? or would they want a 2D platformer indie game? Hint: it's not the indie game.

The Switch has no games this year, that's a fact. All they have going for them is Smash to finish of the year and to hide themselves from having nothing to show their consumer base, otherwise, it's been a drought.

I can answer that. I rebought multiple games I already played on WiiU and I liked there, because now woth Switch I can enjoy them everywhere. This is pretty awesome. And this is the reason games like Dead Cells sell so well. Nintendo this time built a machine, that you want your games for, because it offers additional value for said game. Why would I buy a game like Dead Cells on PS4 (and another recent news suggest that a majority of Switch-owners own other systems as well, so could easily buy these games on the other system), if I can play it on Switch on the train, if I visit my parents, on travels in the hotel room, .... This offers so much more playtime to the game.

Eh, of course the Switch version outsells the PS4 version. PS4 just got two amazing exclusives (Dragon Quest and Spiderman and a lot of quality games on sale right now) while Switch is starving for new big games.

Dragon Quest is not a PS4 exclusive.

It doesnt work like that. If they are hungry for games. They can buy the other 1st, 2nd, or 3rd party games.

I suppose I've only bought like 25 games for the switch this year. Compared to the massive total of 3 games on the ps4.

That's pretty incredible, considering the Switch version of Dead Cells is actually $5 more expensive (for the physical version; haven't checked digital) than the PS4 version. It doesn't come as a surprise that the Switch version is performing better, but I would not have guessed a 4:1 ratio; that's nuts.
