Forums - Gaming Discussion - Still Look Good?

First off, I'll just get the obvious ones out of the way.

Donkey Kong Country:

F-Zero GX:

Star Fox Adventures:

Super Mario Sunshine:

Shadow of The Colossus:

What are some other games from the sixth generation and lower that still look good? :)

Rogue Leader

Also Rebel Strike since it was an updated engine, but for a launch game from 3 generations Rogue Leader still looks amazing.

Many old top down/strategy games look still good and will look good forever. Baldur's Gate (especially 2), Age of Empires (especially 2), Heroes of Might and Magic 3,... They have that nice hand painted look and have aged really well. Can't say the same about old 3rd person games. Shadow of the Colossus is one of the few.

Not even Twilight Princess or GTA San Andreas?

Most 4th gen games still look good, pixel art holds up very well. Sadly the early polygonal 3D of 5th gen didn't hold up well at all, 90% of 5th gen games are too ugly for me to even look at. 6th gen holds up much better though, at least half of 6th gen games still look good imo.

They all look pretty terrible to me.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019

Predictions: Switch / Switch vs. XB1 in the US / Three Houses first quarter

Chrono Trigger is still beautiful.
This game doesn't need a remake. But I'd still love to see one.

2002.

2004.

Prime 1 and 2 look just ridiculous for their time, really. These pictures don't actually do them justice. Keep in mind it's all locked 60fps.

Donkey Kong Country aged really bad on a Full HD screen. Got the SNES classic and set it up. It looks so bad. Wish I would still have a CRT just for this.
