Besides for a few bugs and rough edges still, the game is genre leading for space exploration games and if HG fixed the inventory cohesion perhaps one of the best Survival base building games too.

Had I read someone say this about the game a week ago I'd have been extremely skeptical, I quit after plating it in 2016 and came away thinking it was an average game, 5/10 maybe 4 upon reflection of getting that end screen however the last week I started a new game in Survival mode for the new Multiplayer which is fantastic in a group and continued my old normal save which is now at 85 hours from 55ish last week and I'm also doing the surprisingly deep and long story on a creative mode save. I'm blown awaynl, completely addicted and not only is it super fun it's also super relaxing and BEUTIFUL... Man oh man is this game beautfiul in places now.

The entire game seems new and finished, its very deep and every aspect seems to be overhauled in some manner or another. And it's all for free if you kept the game handy and xbox users get another badly needed great game.

NMS NEXT as it is now is more than I had imagined the game to be in the pre release hype build up, going rom a 4 or a 5 for me to an easy 9 and if they fixed the Inventory cohesion, minor terrain issues and few small bugs perhaps a 10. Hello games have truly redeemed themselves in my eyes and as they will continue to invest more free content into the game they've won me over from a slight hater to an proper fan, much of the gamers I've seen comenting after NEXT seems to agree.

Are there any on here who have retried the game? If so what's your thoughts?

I'm conflicted on this game. Should I buy after that and make the practise of finishing games post-launch look acceptable in the eyes of other devs, or should I not buy it and make it look like it's not worth save a game like that after it fails?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I bought it when it came out and beat it. No need to play it again unless its completely different. Ive mined enough minerals for a lifetime.

It's conpletely different. Theres a 30 hour story (which im finding really entertaining so far) Dozens of side quests, dozens of jobs, a lengthy base building sub quest (I'm 20 hours in on that one and its really fun). It has a space fleet managment meta game, there is emergent gameplay all over the shop from new easter eggs type deals as you explore and ontop of that the prodecural generation is overhauled making everything look so much better than 2 years ago, planets are much more beutiful, interesting and really surprising at times, sometimes I don't want to leave them. Even the third person cameras make the game feel different and much more enjoyable for some reason. The drop in, drop out multiplayer is great.... basically everything except for the first two hours is different. There is triple if not quadruple the amount of content and it's good quality content too.

It's well worth returning too and I'm so glad I did.

Well good on them for fixing it.

That's up to you mate but I don't think its that type of situation. My opinion? I think its better to support devs fixing games for free rather than have them sweep it under the rug like ME:A or others or make players pay for the finished content in DLC twice over like destiny. HG messed up, they got bashed and instead of cutting and running they buckled down to fix the game and try for redemption and regardless of what IGN say think its clear the community has spoken and praised the game as it is now.

I'll probably get it whenever I upgrade my PC... which is probably gonna take a long time, sadly.

Did you buy Splatoon, Forza, or GT Sport?  It's a model that people are supporting already.

You're talking about decent games at launch that got better with time vs Bad game at launch that took 2 years to fix into something decent,

People need to support this model when it's done right, not when you're doing a Hello Games type of move.

That's not what he said, though.

And NMS got a 71 on PS4, which probably would have been a bit higher without the controversy.  ARMS got a 77, is that a better match?
