Y'know what, I decided to play Tales of Zestiria despite hearing mixed to bad things about it, and at around 14 or so hours in... I'm actually enjoying it somewhat. Not even close to Xillia (The only other Tales game I've played for this long, and also completed), but yeah... lol.

Also my girlfriend finally started the Kingdom Hearts games this year, finished the first one, got annoyed with Chain of Memories so watched a ten minute recap video, and we've just watched the cutscenes for 358/2 Days (From the collection)... now I want to jump into Kingdom Hearts III, but can't do that until I finish Tales of Zestiria so now I feel like I need to rush through it. To quote Geralt in the Witcher Netflix series; "Fuck!"

It is a fine game and after games likes Vesperia it feels a bit meh, mind you I enjoyed playing the game and platinumed it tho.  Berseria is better in my opinion and is recommended.

So I did end up finishing it, shortly after this post actually... and I'd say it was a solid game, I definitely wouldn't consider it anything better than good, but yeah... it was good, lol. Didn't even come close to Xillia as I predicted anyway, but now that it's finished I can move onto Berseria as my next Tales of game, with the overall opinion being that it's a MUCH better game.

In the meantime though, I decided to skip Kingdom Hearts 3 for something different... Nioh.

Why did I pick Nioh?! I'm like 30 hours in and only just on the third island (There's six), although to be fair I'm having a lot more fun than I thought I'd have, albeit a weird kind of stressful fun, and I'm watching walkthrough videos before playing levels so I know what to expect and how to optimally fight bosses. I've also been working on my stats, going for a Dex Ninjutsu build*, which is really fun to play with, bombs ahoy!

*Although I did pick Kato as the starter guardian for the extra damage and Ki, but now it bothers me because I have an extra point in strength that I don't need, it's just there laughing at me like "Hah, you want to put four points into me to round me up to 10 don't you?!"... yes, yes I do, because I hate seeing it at 6 when my other "useless" stats are at 5 and that isn't, lol.

Pre-ordered :

Death Stranding has a very boring/repetitive gameplay cycle but .... Is actually pretty fun in that. There are some things that annoy me to no end like the animation when BTs are near and Mules kicking stuff off my bike (savages) but it's fun.

Edit: well it seems like I can disable the animation to first time only and not everytime.

"Wheel me out to the curb for garbage day"

Started Ni No Kuni II over the weekend, and so far I'm really liking it. I'm only a few hours in, but the battle system is quite a lot of fun already, and I really like the basic premise of the story. Haven't played a proper JRPG in a little while so this should be a nice change of pace.

Think it'll be the next game I play after Nioh, either that or Kingdom Hearts III anyway... loved the first Ni no Kuni, and despite hearing the sequel doesn't quite capture the magic of the first, I've heard it's still pretty darn amazing!

Well, I'm only about 4 or 5 hours in at the moment, so I can't say much yet, but at least so far it's been very good. I need to start Nioh myself at some point, maybe after Ni No Kuni II.
