Forums - Gaming Discussion - Shenmue 3 delayed to 2019

Problem is the gameplay of the original games is heavily date so how exactly is this going to work other than being a Yakuza lite clone?

Let's hope it is because they want to implement a savegame carry-over system from the Shenmue 1+2 Collection to 3

Nothing to see here, move along

Sigh...😔

Technically speaking, Yakuza is the clone since Shenmue existed long before Yakuza.

It's looked pretty bad from everything I've seen so far, so I reckon this delay is needed

Yep exactly.

On an off-topic issue, I hope you saw the two private messages I sent you, since you did not reply I have been wondering whether the messages got lost or something, you know because of the spamming issues and resetting of PM's.

Not surprised one bit. This fall appears to be loaded with other high-profile games, so it wouldn't been a good idea to release it this year anyways. It was the reason why Sony Bend delayed Days Gone to early 2019. Also, the remasters will help tide things over in the meantime so it's not the end of the world.

Shemue 3 is being delayed because the late release of the remasters would mean Shemue 3 would be buried in the holiday season if they stuck with 2018.

Gameplay > Graphics

Substance > Style

Art Direction > Realism

Is anyone really surprised?
