Which is the superior epic rock song?
Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven or Guns 'n Roses' November's Rain?
I had this debate with a fellow co-worker and we asked around all over work to see which would get more votes for fun. Turned out it was a tie haha.
So what do you guys think? Honestly, Led Zeppelin may get a lot of respect for the great rock band they were but I gotta say there isn't much anything out there as epic as November Rain. The whole composition and flow and the way it builds up is just both haunting and powerful. Not to mention, the video enhances its impact as well. SO memorable. I think it's one of the greatest rock songs of all-time, to be honest. One of the greatest songs. Period. As for Stairway? I'll be honest. I have a lot of respect for it but that's it. I honestly don't understand the praise the song gets. I was never a fan of Led Zeppelin, either but I do understand why this song is considered "timeless." It's definitely good but it just doesn't resonate with me and I never feel like listening to it. But when it's on, I wouldn't turn it off or something, you know? Best I can describe it.
Thoughts?
