Forums - Gaming Discussion - Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer #3

1899, 12 years before Red Dead Redemption 1. John Marston confirmed, he's in the trailer, he's the guy being held at knife point with 2 recently stitched up slashes on his cheek, which are in the same spot as John's 2 cheek scars in RDR1.

My prognosis: "Red Dead Redemption 2" is with "God of War", "Detroit Become Human", "Spiderman" and/or "Kingdom Hearts 3" the Game of the Year 2018 :)

After this game please put the focus on GTA 6 :) @Rockstar Games. I think the game will be >very< successful (single player & online) : )

Game of the Year 2020: Ghost of Tsushima, Persona 5 Royal or The Last of Us 2 ?!

Damn this game will be SO good.

Eh, I doubt that Detroit will get a GOTY nomination, there are quite a few critics who dislike David Cage games for being more interactive story than actual games, plus he was involved in a big sexual harassment controversy earlier this year, the liberally biased media will hold that against him and let it affect their scores I have a feeling. Monster Hunter World is more likely to get a GOTY Nomination by far.

Too soon for me to comment on KH3 and Spiderman getting GOTY nominations, I personally think they both look fantastic, but the highest meta for the KH series so far is only 87 so if KH3 reviews similarly a GOTY nomination is a long shot. Insomniac meanwhile hasn't had a game meta over 87 since 2007.

I agree that RDR2 and God of War nominations are pretty much guaranteed.

looking forward to this. I predict a thread calling it best game this gen when it releases

I am very ready to see actual gameplay including how the online portion works.

Hopefully at E3. I suspect we'll see a gameplay demo on Sony's stage since they have the marketing rights for RDR2.

I just realized something. John and Abigail have already had Jack at the point in time when RDR2 is set, 1899. Jack Marston was born in 1895, so he'd be 4 years old when this game takes place. We also know that John and Abigail had a daughter at some point before he left Dutch's gang in 1906, a daughter who later died, so we may see John's daughter as well. Will really be interesting to see what it was like for John and Abigail to try and raise kids while they were outlaws on the run.
