Forums - Gaming Discussion - Totalbiscuit Says He's Retiring: 'I Don't Have Long Left'

Bowel cancer and Colon cancer is the worst, randomly striking young healthy people. Seriously though I never go to the doctor, but when I was feeling a symptom that seemed all too similar to Colon cancer I was ready to go straight to the doctor. Luckily the symptom passed and had an easy explanation.

I hope his family turns out okay in the end.

Comments here make it sound like the dude is already dead. I mean, it sucks that he delivered bad news. But, he basically said "Fuck it, I'mma do what I want with the rest of my time - play video games with my wife." IMO, that's something to be celebrated. Save the sadness for if/when he passes.

Pretty fucking young to get cancer. Talk about losing the lotto of life.

God that's sad. Hopefully he finds that liver-safe trial :(

I had so much respect for him after watching him explain his condition on that podcast (forget the name) and how he deals with it, battling through days of sickness just to get one or two decent days a week that he can enjoy. It's just so wrong that anyone should have to go through something like this, let alone someone his age that's just getting started with a family of his own.

If nothing else, hopefully he gets the most out of he time he has now that he's not on chemo; if the last couple of years are any indication, I suspect he won't waste a moment of it.

It was bound to happen. He did manage to exceed his expectancy considerably and what he said last time on the podcast did not sound encouraging. I subscribed to him for years now and I have to say I'm glad that I got kinda tired of his antics and pseudo PC knowledge. That means at least I won't miss him much I guess.

Can't imagine how tough it is to know that you will die and have to helplessly come to terms with it.

Fans have been in that mode for the past 3 years. Always cheerful, trying to forget that he's terminally ill. No point in keeping up that charade. As much as he and his friends and family have to get to grips with the fact, his fans will too. Now people have at least a few weeks to prepare to lessen the impact. Good for the people who can still be cheerful but have some understanding for the people who are already emotionally preparing themselves.

Sad to see his cancer metastasized ... (it's nearly a death sentence at that point)

tbh i don't watch much youtube so i don't see spoilers so I don't know who he is but sad news indeed as a person like that would touch so many lives.

Hes had cancer for along time, with a chance to beat it.
Now its spread to his spine (I think it was?) and its un-treatable.... so basically hes dead now.

Its just a matter of how long and how painfull will it be.
