Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox made $2.25 billion in revenue for Microsoft last quarter

The only reason why I post this is because some people say xbox in trouble. Making this much money in one quarter is pretty good. There are things I wish Microsoft would improve on, but good to see competition.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Revenue of course. It's up from 1.9 billion the previous year.

The Xbox has always made money, it just fell behind Sony so ppl think it's a failure. I think the lead of this article should be the last paragraph about there spending has gone way up and it's being out towards games. That's the important part for Xbox right now

Yeah, but to be fair we won't see much of it until 2020/2021. However, if we get a legit fable game and a new mech assault I would be happy.

Revenue of Microsoft's gaming division, so it's not Xbox that made $2.25 billion. Microsoft still doesn't disclose Xbox console sales and focuses on Xbox Live users instead, because that allows them to count people who log in without an Xbox.

Overall, the writeup doesn't say anything favorable about Xbox consoles, so it doesn't counter what Snoopy wants it to counter.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Doing pretty well for itself, for comparison PlayStation generated $3.3b revenue this quarter last year. Don't think this year's been posted yet.

LTD: PS4 - 125m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 51m

2020: PS4 - 9m, Switch - 22.5m, XBO - 2.5m, PS5 - 4.5m, XBX - 2.8m

What do you mean? Microsoft making 2.25 billion in revenue is arguably great.  As long Xbox brings money in we will get more Xboxes and more games.

These are good numbers, however I do need profit numbers to truthfully judge.

What I mean is that Microsoft is moving towards service, so Xbox hardware is becoming less important for them. Microsoft's stake in gaming and Xbox are not one and the same.
