I started this game again for a refresher for DOS2 coming in September and I though, hey, this would be perfect for switch, it's a 7 gig file with only a 1 gig patch and I believe a 10 gig file digital, the graphics don't seem too taxing and the mechanics can't be any more taxing than the physics of BoTW. This is a turn based, ARPG, team based version of BoTW with a deep story, numerous optional side quests and choice beyond anything any other game has ever implemented (besides DOS2) and maybe next to some D&D imitation games.

So I went searching and found this reddit post.

Divinity Original Sin 2 on Switch (maybe!) : NintendoSwitch

Which led me to an un translated interview with larian and this english article.

Larian Studios Will Look Into Bringing Divinity Original Sin To Switch

These are old obviously. Now, when asked about Divinity coming to PS4 when it was released on PC all I could find from Larian was that they were giving the team a break and then they'd port to consoles. Now with the anouncment it makes sense they will look into bringing the original divinity OS to switch. Obviously they may need some sort of show from the community.

Do you think this is possible and/or is it just another company saying "maybe" or "we'd love to" before the switch was released or in early release but many of the companies who said they would support switch are now doing so and coming through on their promises. Witch Switches growing user base hopefully Larian will too.

What are your thoughts on this? Everyone needs to play this game!

I have a PS4... but Id play this on a PC.
I dont think this genre is overall something that works well for mobile play either, like you want to sit down and play these sorts of things, not in small quick bursts.

But I grew up playing like Baulders Gate/Planescape/IceWind Dale/Fallout on the PC.
So maybe thats just it, but I feel like this type of game is ment to be played with a mouse+keyboard, and sitting down when you have hours to immerse yourself into the story/world.

I'm not sure how D:OS works on console, but if they can get it so that two people can play on one Switch I think that would be pretty neat. I'm just not sure how much the Nintendo fanbase would care for an old-school CRPG. Hope it does come and that it gets more fans into the series. They're great games!

Works perfectly with controllers, right up there with Xcom which was built with controllers in mind. Larian outdid themselves porting this making the game even better than it was on PC from the comparisons I've read and reviewers on Meta.

Multi quoted myself cause it answers both your posts. I think if this came to switch, early enough before the system is flooded with games enough people will pay it and see the merit of games like this, perhaps falling in love with the genre.

How many Switch-only gamers out there that would be interested in this type of game? Enough to make the investment of time and money worthwhile?

I could see it selling well in Europe since they have a deep love for CRPG and this would be a way to play D:OS portably. As to the core Nintendo audience? I have no idea. They like Nintendo games. They don't really seem to like much else (at least not on a Nintendo system).

Why Switch only gamers?  I own all three consoles and I still would get the Switch version due to portability.  In fact, more Switch owners share this mindset than you might allow yourself to believe.

So yes, it would very likely be worth the investment.

Many switch only gamers bought skyrim and Doom, games I wouldn't have thought Nintendo only gamers would be interested in. That's why I say, get them now while it's early in the consoles life and the game, considering it's a good port will get 90+ on meta interesting many and the co-op aspect is perfect for the switch as was the selling point for many a ps4 gamer with the couch Co-op aspect and feeds rightly into that first advertisment for the switch promoting the social aspect or a pick up and go console. Why? Do you think there is no place for deep RPG's on switch or nintendo at all? This game is basically Like BoTW and every western RPG ever had a massive orgy and Baulders gate got knocked up spawning this beauty.

This game has nothing to do with BOTW in any sense. It's like saying it's like Pokemon because it has turn-based combat.

If you've played CRPGs you know that was a poor comparison and that there's nothing really like D:OS on Nintendo's plate. Nintendo fans I know were amazed that NPCs in BOTW had more than 1 line of dialogue most the time. To think what they would have reacted if they had to read paragraph after paragraph and making choices (not just yes/no choices that don't matter). It would be jarring to people who never played a CRPG if you just say, hey they is just like BOTW. Go play it!
