Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumor: MS has marketing on Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield V, Borderlands 3, Splinter Cell, and more

https://rectifygaming.com/exclusive-microsoft-to-have-marketing-rights-for-borderlands-3-cyberpunk-2077-splinter-cell-battlefield-v-and-more/

Their server is having issues today so I can't post the full article yet. Will post the article as soon as their server is working. From the picture, looks like they have Madden 19 and Anthem marketing as well, according to the rumor at least.

Edit: The full list of games:

  • Borderlands 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Splinter Cell
  • Battlefield V
  • Anthem
  • Madden 2019
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • The Division 2

Take Two has a huge unannounced game releasing this financial year supposedly. So Borderlands 3 in March 2019 hopefully.

How many of those games have even been announced?
I don't recall borderlands 3 or Splinter cell being announced.

I forgot about Cyberpunk 2077. That was announced so long ago.

  • Deadliest mass shooting by an individual in US history (10/01/2017)
  • Deadliest high school shooting in US history (02/14/2018)

That's a hell of a list of games if true. Hopefully MS has S and X bundles planned for most of them, I could see myself jumping on board the X train for Borderlands 3 or Cyberpunk bundle.

Hopefully MS gets marketing for Bethesda's next game as well, which will likely be announced at E3. Starfield I'm guessing, their rumored new sci-fi IP.

Given that CD Projekt RED expect to launch Cyberpunk 2077 "before 2021", I think it's a bid early to talk about marketing rights, specially given that we don't know if it will launch this gen, the next one, or both as a cross-gen title.

But Borderlands and specially Splinter Cell are possible.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Borderlands 3 isn't announced by name, but it's known to be in development, Gearbox announced the next Borderlands game had entered development back in January 2015, release is rumored for this financial year, so Q1 2019 release most likely.

Splinter Cell hasn't been announced at all, though it was recently rumored for an E3 2018 announce and release this Holiday.

It's launching before 2021, but so is a 2nd game: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kevinmurnane/2018/03/24/cd-projekt-red-plans-a-second-triple-a-rpg-in-addition-to-cyberpunk-2077-by-2021/#2fb27d0f69ed

That means Cyberpunk in aiming for a 2019 release most likely, with the 2nd game releasing in 2021 (though I personally expect the 2nd game to be delayed to 2022). As for technology, CD Projekt specifically said it was being built for current and next gen technology, which basically tells me it will release first on current gen with next-gen ports whenever then next gen consoles release.

Exclusive marketing right on unannounced titles...
Does that mean I won't hear of the games' releases if I don't own a Xbox?
