Man becomes first person convicted of sexism under new Belgian law | The Independent

"A man has been convicted of sexism in a public place for the first time under a new law in Belgium.

A court in Brussels fined him €3,000 for insulting a police officer because of her gender, Le Soir reported.

It comes as France prepares to create an offence of street harassment, described as “sexist and sexual outrage”.

He was reported to have said she would be better off doing a job “adapted to women”, in a scene witnessed by several other people.

The driver was found guilty of three charges: contempt of a police officer, making threats and sexist remarks in public, and a serious violation of another person’s dignity because of her gender.

He was warned that if he failed to pay the fine, a prison term of a month would be imposed."

We really are starting to enter the realms of thought control, regressing back into an age akin to that of the rule Christianity. To think a country that is thought to be apart of the western world would adopt such a nonsense and abusable law as this, is crazy and horrifying.

I don't dip my toes into conspiracies but this whole leftist way of life seems to be some sort of over arching social engineering of the ignorant and weak minded masses, twisting them to be an army of the corporations, governments and to be good little sheep who accept their freedoms being stripped and their future selves to be imprisoned. It's all the makes sense because in a world of individuality people can't be this shortsighted and bloody stupid, especially people smart enough to make a career in law or perhaps that's me being naive.

Where do your thoughts fall on this?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

So he basically called her a whore, after she gave him a ticket or something?
And now hes faceing jail time?

That punishment seems out of balance with the deed done.
Even being fined 3700$ for calling a police cop a whore.... is extreme (imo).

Doesnt effect me, and I would never call a female officer such, but this is scary imo.
Sexism punished like this is too extreme.
I have a problem with the "punishment not fitting the crime"

Imagine in the USA all the people that swear "son of a whore" when you get a ticket, and then getting another ticket for (for like 3700$ USD), and then being thrown in jail for haveing sworn, and not paid the fine? its insane.

I guess I get better off when I steal 3000€ than what this guy did.

Hm, a law that punishes stupidity. I'm fine with that.

Seriously, just don't be a worthless idiot and you'll be fine.

Whoa whoa whoa... did they just ASSUME someone's gender??? Add another €3,000 fine on top of that for the crime of gender assumption!  GUILTY!!!

No seriously... this is what feminists actually believe:

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The fine for sexism can vary from €50 to €1000. So the majority of these €3000 is because of the other charges.

Convicted of sexism!? Is this what the world has come to?
