Makes no difference to me what sells the most this year. My dollars go to Far Cry 5, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 4. Hopefully MSs E3 presentation has a fourth game to look forward to this year!

Why enter a thread you don't care about just to make off-topic posts? There's plenty of places to spread pro-ms gospel.

CoD should easily take the win, but perhaps RDR will surprise, who knows maybe after GTA V it'll do gangbusters also.

When was the last time a cod game touch 15 million? Lol

CoD WWII has more than 15 million people on the leaderboards on PS4 alone and that isn't counting people who only play the campaign and never started MP. Xbox One has about 8 million people on the leaderboards. On PC it's more or less dead, but should be another million or so. Granted, you have the occasional double accounts here and there, but that should even out with the people who only play single player. It isn't perfectly accurate, but it gives you an idea and based on that I assume that WWII has sold well over 20 million.

WW2 has 15m players on PS4 and 9.3m on XBO. So 24.3m total.

One of the options is 'other' on the poll so how am I off topic?

Yes "other", for if you think a game that isn't in the poll will be the best selling game this year.

This is a tough one. Call of Duty isn't as strong as it used to be, though Black Ops carries more weight than the last few. Red Dead Redemption ended up selling like 30 million overall, so a ton of people will want it out of the gate. I'll go with RDR2, but I could easily be wrong.

15 million as of February 2017.

It’s odd that such a great game sold so little. By little I mean by Rockstar standards.

Well it was a New IP, and it's setting probably isn't as appealing to most as GTA. Isn't it still the best selling game with a western setting?

15m vs GTA IV's 25m is pretty good considering these things.

I voted RDR2 simply because I'd like to see COD lose. Thought the franchise was going to suffer from over saturation but is as strong as ever... The popularity of Fortnite and Pubg might hurt it a little.

It`s not really that little. Looking at VGC it`s around the same as GTA 3 sold. It`s just a newer franchise that hasn`t got the history that GTA has behind it yet.

True, true. I think based on the reception of the first one, RDR2 will be massive. I hope the main character is as great as Marston.

Pretty sure Labo will flop.

Predicted 15+ million lifetime-sales for God of War:

If BO4 turns out to be very decent and we see Switch port, I'd say BO4. WWII sold over 17 million and I don't see new BO selling less than that. Unless ... we see Pokemon for Switch in 2018. That might change everything. I honestly don't think that RDR2 will reach CoD numbers this year, but it will have legs.

It wouldn`t. Pokemon would need a big increase in sales over the last 2 generations in order to challenge COD and not only is a sudden jump like that difficult in the first place, the limited Switch install base will make it even harder. It would need a 50% attach rate at minimum, and while Zelda etc may have had very impressive attach rates, that was at launch, doing that on a console that will be coming up to 2 years old is pretty much unheard of.

Yes, you're right. I've checked X/Y sales figures (which sold 10mil copies in its first 3 months), not realising that it was released in 2013 not 2012. In that case the actual attach rate was 25%, not 39% like I initially thought. My bad.
