Forums - Microsoft Discussion - RUMOR: COD Marketing Coming Back To Xbox This Year With Black Ops IIII

Looks like COD marketing could be coming back to Microsoft this year based on this. Of course it’s just speculation but anything’s possible.

I hope so. It'll be back 'fair' again ...

The PS5 Exists.

Hmm, that might be interesting if true.
If so, I'm almost certain they would make the Xbox One X a focal point in the marketing.
Though, I seriously doubt that Sony would just let the Marketing Rights for Call of Duty slip right through their fingers.
If Microsoft wants those rights back, they'll have to dig deep into their pockets.

You mean IV?

Sony have the market lead, most people will buy it on PS4, save themselves some money. :)

Hmm, pie.

huh, well if they've forgot how to count properly maybe they really are going back to Microsoft, they're the experts at not being able to count after all

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Makes sense since Sony has the marketing rights to the bigger game in RDR2.

I'm failing to see the correlation, especially since they had cod, BF2, destiny and FIFA last year.

Either Sony just didn't bother (maybe towards marketing their own title or another 3rd party) or MS went all in.

Either way, I think PS4 can ride through no cod marketing for remainder of the gen. Still a weird thing to lose at this point.

Sony had a 5 year deal that started in 2013. That would mean they would still have marketing rights.
