Forums - Gaming Discussion - Capcom stock at a 16 year high in the wake of MH World success (5m shipped)

https://www.resetera.com/threads/capcom-stock-4-79-after-mhw-launch-highest-since-2001.19583/

Seems Capcom stock is at it's highest point since 2001 in the wake of the announcement that MH World shipped 5m units in 3 days, the most in the series' history. Huge turnaround for Capcom, their stock has more than doubled since the rough patch a few years back where they had so little money they had to take exclusivity deals for games like Dead Rising 3, Dead Rising 4, and Street Fighter 5 just to fund their development.

I have to admit when they first announced World I doubted it'd be crazy successful, but all of this is pretty great. Now hopefully Capcom doesn't mess it up, because you know, it's Capcom.

Wish I owned any of it =D

Can't wait for the eventual loot boxes to drive their stock even higher.

Hope the new DMC and Megaman game turn out well too.

I actually hope this shows other companies, that you dont have to rely on loot boxing people to death to earn a profit.

Bolded is my thought exactly. This is great for Capcom and hopefully it means good things for us players, but knowing Capcom the potential for messing it up is not entirely zero.

Don't count that egg before it hatches. Capcom is known for screwing up financially even when successful same with take two.

Lol. Have you met companies? Why make some money when you could make all of the money?

Very nice to see the huge impact of Monster Hunter World!

They're gonna plummet again to rock bottom once investors see that the game wasn't even trending in the Top 5 most viewed on Twitch two days ago.
