Those numbers are not bad for Mario + Rabbids, I think. Let's hope it has some legs. Nice that Xenoblade 2 is still in the top 20. Good numbers for PS4, I guess people are preparing for Monster Hunter.

Those people in France must be losing their shit for a No.1 debut in Japan.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Here is the comparison of software sales in Japan in a comparable timeframe: PS4 in 2014, launch in February - 2.584m |
Well there's his answer. Not sure why he wants to bring the entire world in Japan sales thread.
Pocky Lover Boy!
Switch must be really supply constrained. PS4 sold more hardware, but the top of the software charts is full of Switch titles.

Do you think that doing what you accuse him of makes you the voice of reason? |
I told him my opinion. I never claimed to be the voice of reason.

Because his comparisons are not limited to just Japanese sales so my answer wasn't either. So no that's not the answer. An actual bold prediction would be "Switch will sell more software then the ps4 lifetime WW".
If I went and made a "ps4 will sell more software then switch WW" it would be equally as obvious as some of his. I say some because, he does have a few legit bold comparisons over the years.
Anyway back on topic, ps4 Pro back in stock. Hopefully it stays that way so sales next week are as high as possible. Launch is just 1 day away.

Its not like they could pull units from elsewhere. With the recent mainland europe numbers, I don't think they can afford to pull out units from there either.
And its FAR more important to have stable supply in europe and NA because at this point switch already sold half the units the ps4 has LTD. Ergo, its already rooted in the japanese market.
Also if they are stocking up for a chinese realese...
Switch still #1 best selling hybrid despite intense shortages. I wonder how long this domination will continue.

They didnt plan ahead, for success. The "only" fix is to wait it out, Nintendo are being cheap, and arnt willing to pay more than Apple, to get parts.
Kinda hard to make Switch's if your missing parts needed to manufacture them with. Even if production should be up in 2018, its still probably a issue for them. |
True. It's kind of sad and funny at the same time to see my 2 favorite companies fighting for parts.
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I'm talking about nintendo shipped numbers which will be reported in 6 days. |
Probably will be higher number than 13.5m, analyst predict 14-15m shipped at end of December.
