Forums - Gaming Discussion - Atari launches crowdfunding campaign for RollerCoaster Tycoon Switch

honestly, I cant see a reason to do a crowdfunding for just 10k.

The classic RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise could come to Switch, but Atari is looking for some help to make it possible. Today, the company started a campaign on the equity crowdfunding platform StartEngine. The campaign appears to have a minimum goal of $10,000.

As for the new RollerCoaster Tycoon game itself, it will be the classic simulation gameplay that the series is known for. Atari is also promising the following features:

– Multiple Scenarios – Complete tricky objectives with specific time limits and other constraints.

– Sandbox Mode with Various Landscapes – Create the park of your dreams with unlimited time and unlimited resources.

– Tycoon Career Mode – Expand your park and grow your Amusement Empire.

For a look at the StartEngine campaign, head on over here. The campaign will run for three months.

As someone with fond memories of Atari (Atari ST anyone?), it's hard to see them like this.

Well that should be easy to manage, I am sure donations will come in. Plus this is good for them because the system sells games. Could give them just the boost they need.

Arent they coming out with their own console?

Just how bad is Atari's situation that it needs to crowfund 10k to port a game to a console?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I would love for this to happen. Here's hoping that this, Two Point Hospital, City Skylines, and The Sims 4 eventually make it over to the Switch.

I hope it's quality like the first 3, that mobile game they did was garbage

It better not turn out like Rollercoaster Tycoon World.

That game specifically is the reason they are in dire straight right now. It was a shit show and for steam rolled ny Planet Coaster and rightfully so.

Please let this be good and I'll defo purchase.

I assume this will be a couple of years away though. 3 months to hit their goal and them they'll most likely start making it.

This is so strange. They only want $10k? This isn't passing the sniff test.
