Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox E3 Briefing Will Include "Positive Changes" This Year

Microsoft is already planning its E3 2018 briefing.

It's only January, but Microsoft is already planning its Xbox E3 2018 briefing. Xbox boss Phil Spencer appeared on Major Nelson's latest podcast where he confirmed Microsoft is already having planning discussions for the show, some 5-plus months before E3 2018 in June.

Spencer didn't give away any specifics about what will be shown during the event. But intriguingly, he teased that this year's event may not be what you expect. There will be some "changes."

"I don't think we've talked about yet, but I think will be some positive changes at E3," Spencer said. "Could be fun for us; it'll be a nice change."

E3 2018 runs June 12-14 in Los Angeles. It's one of the biggest gaming shows of the year, and we're expecting a lot of big news from this year's event. One possibility for the show is the announcement of Halo 6, which we pretty much know is in development but hasn't been revealed yet. Microsoft is also reportedly working on a PlayStation Now-like game-stre..

Spencer joined the exclusive Microsoft Senior Leadership panel last year as Xbox's chief speaker, where he speaks directly with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella about gaming. Spencer said on the podcast that Microsoft--from the top down--believes in gaming, which is significant considering there was a time not too long ago when some believes Microsoft would sell off its Xbox division. "The support that we're getting, the ambition that the company has...hopefully 2018 will show some of that," Spencer

Damn, I expected negative changes. Well played, Phil.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

They're already talking about E3 plans months in advance. Gamers can't play E3. It's time to talk up the releases currently on the slate.

So we are going to see exclusives?

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

What exclusives is Microsoft releasing for this 1st half of 2018 ? Another bare desert in the horizon right now ...

I took a break from early this gen and recently came back. I own a One...4....and New3dsxl...love all of them.

Anyway...it really is shocking to see some of the quotes about MS potentially abandoning gaming....?....really???....

People have genuinely forgotton how aggressive MS can be in the gaming world. They mean business. I would even go as far as to say they might even be around longer than both Sony and Nintendo...hardware wise.

I need to make a thread about the general consensus of the One....but I don't post often and I don't feel like spamming

I'm predicting the launch of a new sku:

XBoxOne XBox, Microsoft's answer to the insanely popular Nintendo Labo.

I really don't see them being around longer than Sony or Nintendo, as far as console hardware goes.  Their audience fell too greatly this gen.

Best Year Ever.
