Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Zelda app. What if?

So after completing Zelda BOTW dlc, finding all kooks seed, completing all shrines, find all map locations and getting every costume, I still feel the need to visit a post ending scenario where you get to kill all monsters and rebuild Hyrule. Perhaps as a long time Zelda player I could say it wouldn't work (Mainly because no other Zelda game has the post ending scenario) So I thought in an alternate solution.

We all know that Zelda for mobiles is eventually going to happen, so imagine if that game is based on this, of course it wouldn't run on BOTW engine,  but it could look like ALBW or the DS games (but better) and have gameplay mechanics like rune factory frontier and FFCC MY life as a king and somehow you could transfer your data from the game to the app to reward you from finishing the game. I know the blood moon is gone but monsters can still reappear via natural reproduction, you know.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Around the Network

I don't really see much potential in a game of that nature.

Have you seen any female enemies in BotW?
The only obvious genderless enemy would be ChuChus, and maybe Octorocks.
Meaning you would be left with fields of ChuChus, as they would keep reproducing, with nothing like Bokoblins to keep the population in check.

Mobile phones could run the BotW engine.
The engine was built to run on the WiiU, and pretty much all modern phones eclipse that, power-wise.
Also the Switch isn't very powerful, and a top end phone today is probably more powerful that the Switch (or will be within a year).

My personal opinion? Dear god, no. No more apps. No more shallow, micro transaction games that aren't even shadows of their console brethren. Pokemon Go was the biggest thing that has and will ever happen as far as games that came from OUR neck of the woods and look how fast it died. It dropped off the relevant cliff quicker than Vanilla Ice once we all found out he really wasn't from "the hood".

Having written all that... I'm sure they'll do it. I think they've figured out that these things are basically paid advertisements for the real games and are all in.

As usual, I won't be downloading. Done with smart phone games.
