The title seems to be very CPU bound.
The XxX apparently hits 4k with no reported dynamic resolution, and the base unit hits 1080p.
The starting area’s textures look like they were ripped out of an N64 title.
This is probably due to the game’s custom characters, and needing to fit all of their textures in memory.
Texture quality in general seems to be rather low on the base Xbox One, this is not helped by poor texture filtering.
The XxX seems to be able to handle much higher quality textures, but they are still nowhere near acceptable by 8th gen standards (let's be honest, it is just an ugly game, even on PC).
It seems the title can hit around the 15 FPS mark when all 100 players need to be accounted for, like in the starting area.
In general, the title does not seem to perform well.
I don’t know what that nonsense was about the XxX hitting 60FPS was, but well; it was nonsense, the game only seems to hit 30FPS when under very low load.
Given that the title was designed as a PC game, it should not be surprising that we are seeing these issues.
When thinking of a mid range PC, my mind goes to:
A decent CPU (four cores @ 3.5GHz, perhaps with SMT),
Plenty of RAM (8 - 16GB main memory with 2 - 8GB VRAM)
It will be very interesting to see the mobile port that Tencent is reportedly doing.
