Forums - Sony Discussion - Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) Special Edition and PS4 Pro enhancements announced

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a “Special Edition Box Set” for the upcoming Shadow of the Colossus remake.

Additionally, the company announced that PlayStation 4 Pro users will be able to choose between two options when playing the game:

  • Cinematic: Emphasizes image quality, and for owners of compatible 4K HDR displays, boasts a beautiful dynamic 4K image targeting 30 fps
  • Performance: Delivers an extremely fluid frame rate targeting 60 fps

Here's a comparison video.

So it's not gonna be 60fps on the regular PS4?

I'm guessing 1080p "cinematic mode" is the regular PS4's only option.

Sry excited for this!
Hope the collectors addition isn’t over priced though

Extremely fluid 60 fps, erm. Too bad there is no VR option.
The special edition is $50 not bad for all that. I wonder how it will look with HDR :)

Targeting 60fps but with how much success? Even the PS2 version targeted 60fps, just it usually ran somewhere around 15fps. From the brief trailer this is clearly better than that but if it hits it's targets with the same consistency as FFXV then performance mode might be worse than cinematic mode.

Still, I love the game, I'll definitely be buying it for the 3rd time.

A special edition? Hell yes. Bought a PS4 Pro just for this game so I'm definitely gonna get the special edition.

Does anyone mind giving me a PS4 Pro?
