The Peak year was 2013, the third year.

no it wasn't. first year, was its best, second year was very close.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_3DS_sales

1) Those are units shipped, not sold. 3DS was quite overshipped at first. Not many bought it cause of the high price tag. So we cant really call this an accurate representation.

2) http://www.vgchartz.com/yearly/2013/Global/

on the right, the chart shows a yoy increase over 2012. And 2012 shows a yoy increase over 2011

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

ill take  nintendo shipped number over vgchartz lol, and 3ds best holiday sales was 2011.

PS4 is doing better in the US than last gen, but really hasn't caught on there like some other platforms have. It's peak year in sales so far has been 5.6m (2015). That's not even close to some other platforms- DS 10.1 million (2008), Wii at 9.8m (2008) and 360 at 7.7m (2011). There's still massive room for growth there if Sony can capture more of the NA audience.

Meanwhile in the EU, it's hit 6m for the past 3 years running, be interesting to see where it ends up at the end of this year.

Oh boy oh boy. 14th is up and I haven't even posted about this weeks numbers. Vita over 10-1 on the Wii-U. There are many truths in those numbers, not the least of which is that the Vita is mercilessly pounding the Wii-U. The whole thing reminds me of a quote from Chris Rock, hypothetically quoting James Earl Rae in prison: "Everybody got the day off, and nobody even bothered to thank me!"

sure what ever you say. For me N64, gc and even wiiu to a much lesser extent are better home consoles then switch. for a person that doesn't care about handheld gaming what does switch offer. a console thats much 4x-5x weaker then consoles released nearly 4 years ago. for a handheld device it's great though

how many kids do you see carrying a ipad or gaming on a phone it's very common. parents used to have buy handhelds to keep kids occupied while going out or going on trips, now they just take there ipad or game on there mobile phone , there is way more entertainment on the go, then there ever was when 3ds launched.   the fact i have to explain this to you is laughable.

Switch is the console with the best exclusive games, so it has plenty to offer. It's quite common for people who dislike Nintendo to prefer their failures, because those consoles lagged behind the company they really like in sales.

You don't get why your repeated claims that mobile gaming is a threat to Nintendo are moot. Switch is winning Japan with ease; it's irrefutable that a home console like the PS4 is the device in trouble while Switch is on track to comfortably reach the 20m mark which is about the usual number for successful consoles in Japan. Switch has won six of eight NPD months it has been available in; Switch is the #1 console in Canada this year. And this is just the start. Switch sales will increase in 2018, so things will improve in Europe too.

No console that has been successful right out of the gate has seen lower sales in year 2. You are betting against video game history, all because of your feelings.

ps4 november+december will out esll switch by a huge amount. switch just launched with the best first year nintendo line ever, with some of the highest scoring games of all time, switch shitty supply, pent up demand is keep switch winning npd, once stock is met in the US, most nintedo fans get one sales will start going down, it just doesn't have the thirdparty support to compete and handheld factor is not enough.

lol at you prediction for SSBB to meet GTAV. worst prediction ever. i bet you were predicting ps4 to never hit 100 million even after 2 years of great sales.

You've said those things before, but repeating them isn't going to make them true.

As for SSBB vs. GTA IV, it serves as a reminder that conventional wisdom on forums is dangerous. Had I picked Mario Kart Wii which I was more convinced of - unfortunately, consensus swayed me that SSB is more popular than MK - then I would have been right. What you are doing is reckless; mocking other people while you are in the midst of making a surefire failure of a prediction is a recipe for disaster. You are like the people who predicted low Switch sales and boasted about bookmarking prediction threads to bully Nintendo fans a few years down the line.

i always had switch at 50-60 million ltd.

At least you're crystal clear about your ignorance here. You have the chance to change your prediction, and your mind, you're free to do it and join the rest of us in the current reality.

Seems very unlikely, but then that prediction is still more likely than PS4 nor outselling the Wii and there are still people who believe the PS4 will not beat Wii. So up it to 80-100 million range and that's a decent guess on the low end.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Everyone's all hyped up on Switch, but clearly the PS4 is still the true king! As a Nintendo fan I suppose I have to spin the numbers a bit, so while PS4 is the best single selling system, Nintendo is even with Sony for overall hardware sold this week. This thanks to PSVita and PS3 no longer contributing much to Sony while 3DS is still a huge player for Nintendo.

There's no reason to spin numbers this week; the Switch's time at the top has already been proven several times. It doesn't need to happen every week.

Well I already did so...

Plus I was trying to be humorous, that because I'm a Nintendo fan I can't say something good about Sony without also saying something good about Nintendo.
