Forums - General Discussion - New SFV: Arcade Edition trailer shows off new mechanics

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWSrQ2ZOnq4&feature=youtu.be

Now this is starting to look interesting.
The previous news we had only mentioned new V-Triggers. But according to X-Kira who is a dataminer that has given us correct info about upcoming things before, he found files that suggest that there are new V-Skills, V-Reversals and new Critical Arts as well.

Which could explain what's going on in this image of Chun-Li doing Kikosho.

Hard to imagine that just being a V-Trigger.

But I'm not sure if these new abilities we see in this trailer are just from the V system, or if they're getting new Special attacks.
Either way, this looks like a good step towards addressing some of the complaints people have about the game being too simple/boring.

Again this is a free upgrade coming in January.

Ken's move there are the end was Shinryuken. That has always been a super/critical art. It would be bonkers if that was just the effect from the new v-trigger.

I wish the character leaks were true though. That would make me buy the game.

nice, an arcade mode in a street fighter game. took only 2 years.

It looks like he's doing a V-Trigger activation right before Shinryuken, so perhaps it is a V-Trigger after all. Same for Chun-Li.
Unless they just cut out the cinematic startup of the Critical Art for the trailer.

As for the leaks, it was Sagat, Sakura and Sodom, I think? And it came from X-Kira iirc. Then there are supposedly two more newcomers. I only remember one of them supposedly being a Final Fight character, but I'm not sure if this comes from the same source.

Personally I wanted Yun and Rose, but I guess I'll have to wait another year at least.

After Tekken adding Noctis I realized the only thing keeping me from playing fighting games, is the cast.

I played Person 4 Arena. I'm getting Dissidia, and DBZ.

So if SF wants me to play it, get some anime up in you. Perhaps some Tales of? Lots of games to choose from.

  • Deadliest mass shooting by an individual in US history (10/01/2017)
  • Deadliest high school shooting in US history (02/14/2018)
  • Deadliest massacre of Jews in US history (10/27/2018)
  • Political assassination attempt of TWO former presidents(and 10+ other people)  (10/23/2018 - and beyond)

Looks good. If they're following last gen's trend, after an Arcade Edition there'll come an Ultra version so I'll keep waiting til then.

Character roster is super important to me as well. But fundamentally the game has to be fun as well for me to enjoy those characters in the game. And that's why I'm liking the looks of this upgrade.

As for crossover characters, it's possible we could at least see a Tekken character, given the deal that allowed Akuma to appear in Tekken 7. I imagine if Capcom wanted to, they would be allowed to add a Tekken character to their game.

Well this is a free upgrade, and a potential Ultra version would be too. In that sense there's not really any point in waiting, right?

Well I thought with the original version, all updates are free but you'd still need to grind to unlock while this Arcade version everyone is already unlocked no?  If im correct then I dont mind waiting to the path of least resistance hehe but if im wrong then I might consider not waiting to buy :P

Oh yeah you're right. You get Season 1 and 2 characters (12 characters in total) unlocked if you buy Arcade Edition.
