Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What do You prefer: MK8DX Odyssey DLC or MK9?

What do You prefer?

Mario Kart 8 DX Odyssey DLC (in few months) 10 18.52%

Mario Kart 9 (in 2-3 years) 44 81.48%

Total:54

MK9 of course, about time for some different gameplay me thinks. Also, at the same point in MK8's life, dlc for it was not only announced already, but pack 1 released as well. Infact I can't think of single Nintendo game that got dlc announced for it this far out. Thus it's safe to say they aren't doing dlc for MK8D, because if they were they would have announced it already.

I'd go with Mario Kart 9. I don't buy DLC myself, so this was an easy choice for me,

In 2-3 years? By that time it is MK9 hands down.  Maybe even think of a new mechanic to spice things up.  MK8 will be on there for older style play, MK9 will be available for evolution.

Mario Loot Crates. I want to see what happens.

Mario Kart 9. Without a hint of a shadow of a doubt.

Neither. Nintendo should follow current trends, skip mariokart 9, and go straight to Mariokart 10/X. They probably won't tho, showing how out of touch they are.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Neither this generation. I’d prefer Diddy Kong Racing.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

neither..mk8 deluxe is fine as is and will sell for as long as switch is selling..have the mk team work on something new

Personally I would love most Diddy Kong Racing 2, but I dont have nothing against if they make MK9 and Diddy Kong Racing 2. :)

I dont think there is a need yet for MK9 anytime soon. It is considered one of the best titles in the series and didn't have that much exposure on the WiiU given the console's low sales.

On the Switch you can argue we got the definitve version which is still being improved on with patches and it has proven to be an evergreen sales title regularly found in the top field of charts.

So it is widely successful and for many Switch owners a new experience. It will be THE Mario Kart title for Switch I believe. I wouldnt be surprised if the next MK only comes along with the Switch successor.
