Forums - Gaming Discussion - Great Indies you just played

On the last 4 days I finished 4 games.

Tales from the Borderlands,

Submerged,

Toren,

Among the Sleep.

And I have to tell the no dialogue history of Submerged and the FP Horror Adventure playing with a 2y old was fantastic. Both quite simple gameplay and puzzles, but with such an attaching experience.

Toren I bought only because it was a Brazilian game... although it is less polished and pretty than the other 2 it was decent.

Not that I'm aware (although they don't do AAA or are bond to a publisher, are they?) so they could... but if you look, I said I played 4 games, but commented only on 3... the indies.

Stardew Valley. So addicting, Emily is my waifu, I love going into the mines. I just wish I had more daytime so that I can explore more.

Axiom Verge. Great metroidvania game.

Elliot Quest. Mix between Zelda and Kid Icarus.

Maybe not new but I recently played them:

Shantae 1/2 genie hero (100 % Hardcore mode, one of the few games I've 100 %)

Sine Mora EX (not finished yet because of SMO, but damn "Challanging" is difficult)

Biggest disappointment:

Earth Atlantis (the game is not "bad", it's just really really mediocre)

Eagerly awaiting:

Hollow (possible big let down since I've hyped it up for myself)

Playing Time Recoil on Switch for a review. It's surprisingly fun, but maddeningly difficult. It really feels like an old school NES game with its mechanics and difficulty. Essentailly a top down shooter ala Hotline Miami.

I love Rogue Legacy and Darkest Dungeon. I used to be so against the idea of indies cause i had that "it needs to be big and brash and loud" a.k.a high AAA budget mentality. But as ive allowed myself to explore more games and be more open i find that i truly enjoy these 1-15 man team games. They are so goddamn unique and the gameplay in these titles is honestly refreshing.

Yep... I'm much more inclined to AAA and focus very little on Indie... but when PSN+ have some free or cheap and I check the trailer and like it I get it... have played quite some good indies this way, and expended very little... good thing also is that most are 2-4h experience so you don't burn out.
