Man, Crash 4 is SO freaking good!

Not only is the core game superb, with a great balance of tough but fair, elegant level design, and tight controls, but it's easily one of the best ports of an 8th gen game to Switch, the experience never feels compromised or cut back.

Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys platformers, provided you don't mind a challenge.

If you try to go for 100% in this game, I dare you to say all that again.

I don't get it, what's so hard about it? I've seen all the people complaining about it (Caddicarus, I think Jirard, Antdude, etc), but it just sounds like it's a grind more than it being actually hard.

And after getting the platinum on Rock Band 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2, I gotta say, this doesn't sound that bad.

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

At the beginning I was liking Bravely Default II a lot but I'm finding the later classes to be a bit meh, regular enemies and even bosses don't stop from being way too easy. Managed to defeat the worm in Rimedhal's graveyard at level ~55. I also think it's a bit cheap that a lot of enemies have counters, but thankfully there's the Ranger's passive which nullifies physical attacks counters. The worst part is the narrative, though. The story and characters put me to sleep, I'm kind of skipping dialogues at this point. I'm not expecting an amazing plot out of a recreation of the RPGs of old, and that's actually fine for a ride, but at least I want something well done with interesting characters. I'm nearing the end so maybe I can now say BDII is a good game, but that's it, there's nothing special about it, not even the music (Wiswald's theme is a banger, though). At the very least, it fulfilled my desire for a time sink.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Fully beat Bravely Default 2. What a treat!

.... I'd almost  consider asking if the ending implicates some mind/space/time bending shenanigans or surprises similar to the first game but I'll retract from doing so since I'm already on Chapter 4.

Quite liked the ending of the last Chapter.

You're in for a treat! This one also has a bunch of meta stuff but I won't spoil anything.

Finished Bravely Default II as well. The final part took quite the weird turn, but for the good, it was a nice change of pace and brought a nice closure to everything. Overall, I'm satisfied with it, I only wish the main portion of the game could've been as great as its end, but it's okay, I know what it intends to do.

I have been playing Children of Morta the last two weeks. It's a blast.

It's excellent indie-like game with great gameplay and a charming story .

I think the issue is that they give you a lot of options... and while it's fun to play around with all of the different ways you can put classes and abilities together, it's pretty easy to find broken combinations. The bosses went from being insanely hard in the being kind of pushovers.

That's kind of the problem in turn based RPGs in general. If you give a lot of options, the bosses can't possibly be equipped to handle then all, and too few, you just wind up falling back on a few simple things. I prefer this to something like FFVII, where by the end I was generally just attacking and healing, but it's not as good as Octopath which generally kept me on my toes till the end.

Even after 4 years, there were some new surprises here I didn't know about, like Lizalfos catching boomerangs or the Wind Waker shirt massively boosting the sail-by-leaf mechanic. The sheer depth of this game is mind-boggling.

Has anyone here been playing Ghost N Goblins Resurrection? Looks like an interesting game but given the iffy reputation about how fair GnG is or is not I'm hesitant to buy it without first knowing others opinions. Plus it's still kind of expensive. I know from at least one acquaintance that it surprised them by how great it is and that it actually looks good in person, but I don't know how others feel.

While I haven't played it myself, I watched my little brother do a full playthrough of it. It's well made for what it is but ruthlessly, mercilessly hard. Luckily, there is a mode with endless lives where you start right where you died, so as you push through if you have enough patience.

Depends on how you go with frustration; if the thought of being killed ten times in the space of 5 minutes puts you off, avoid. If you're the kind of person who likes games like Dark Souls, you'll probably love it.
