It does look like a big step-up for monster hunter.
Perphaps true fans of the series, will get a PS4 to play the new one with.

And if it manages to capture the western audience... it could be one of the bigger sales successes for it.
It could also fall short.

Its hard to tell, but I like that the gameplay seems to have evolved and the graphics are finally up to console level.

I voted 3-4m, cuz as I said Im optimistic about it (series has never looked so good, gameplay or graphically).

I will go bold. 6.35 million global. Bump later to laugh me.

That's more like it. This prediction is not so out there, if it sells to the japanese base AND can grow in the west.

Across ps4/xb1/pc I guess 3.1m

Well, as you are in the other threads a strong proponent of the opinion this was a good decision from Capcom and will grow their base, this prediction is too low. So you are expecting losses in japan!

I still say that 3-4M is not optimisitic for this, if this is the new mainline title and intends to grow into new consumer groups. 3-4M wouldn't be pathetic for this target like 2-3M would be, but it is clearly not optimistic. I like the 6.5 prediction a bit earlier.

10-50k.

Okay, maybe 50k is a little too low. If Capcom heavily promotes this game, it might get close to 100k.

If it also gets a Switch release later on, I think it can easily do 16 million.

If your prediction becomes true you won't see another Monster Hunter on PS4/XB1/PC.

The 3DS sold 22.70 million copies in Japan, the PS4 sold 4.68m. That's a huge difference, so losses in Japan are very likely. They aren't going to buy a console (that they don't even like) just for one game.

If it sells over 3 million (which is well above expectation for most), Capcom can recoup 1.5 million with a late Switch port and be okay.

If it sells under 2, there's no mitigating the losses of the undoubtedly much more expensive production costs for this game.

It honestly has to be MUCH more successful than previous home console versions to be seen as a win, even if they're expanding the Western market.

I expect something like 1.5 million max on ps4 and like 200k max on Xbox

Nope. This number would be very profitable.

And then later in 2018 they can release a portable version on Switch and get the rest of the sales.

So they'll now sell more of MH then ever if the above happens.
