Eh, I'm probably gonna get killed for saying this, but I really don't prefer the Mario Sunshine style of gameplay. The levels are too wide open which takes away from the platforming IMO.

Super Mario 64 was about the right size, and Galaxy was good too. I think 3D World is underrated and people will appreciate that game more as time goes on.

Everyone has their own taste. I do however agree on 3D world. It'll turn into the next super mario world within several years

Eh, I don't think so. Once Odyssey comes out and people are re-introduced to ambitious and epic 3D Mario, I suspect 3D World will be overshadowed much like Sunshine was by Galaxy.

After a decade, even sunshine is getting love.

Besides the New Super Mario bros entries (which are forgettable tbh), most of the games end up being memorable and replayable classics

It seems that Zelda BotW will have strong competitor for GOTY.

Meh, Sunshine was a good game, but far from Mario standards imho. Oddyssey seems like it can be a much better game because the sheer insanity and vthe amount of different settings. Just, please, don't forget about creative platforming in this one.

Every main Mario game has its fans, I simply think 3D World will, along with Sunshine, end up having a smaller fanbase compared to the more "blockbuster" entries like 64, Galaxy, and Odyssey.

Creativity is what allows Mario to stay as the most well known gaming figure to ever exist

Can't disagree. You're right in all honesty

I think you might be wrong there.  3D World has much more personality than 3D Land, so it has a more memorable identity.  And its focus on fantastic pure platforming will make it stand out a lot in the list of 3D Marios, which are a mix of exploration and platforming as traversal more so than platforming as pure challenge.

I'm just not seeing it; it's a good game, but 64 and the Galaxy games were all, practically instantly upon release, widely considered among the best games ever made. 3D World never had that kind of stratospheric acclaim, and it's about to overshadowed by a much bolder and likely much more memorable 3D Mario that much more people will play.
