Forums - Gaming Discussion - Bethesda and the awful E3

I dont know why people hated MS one..... The pacing was wonderful. Games after games. Unlike EA one though.......

They announced no first party titles, the presentation was great. But it was all Third Party, Multi-Plats and Timed Exclusive Indie Games.

State of Decay and Sea of Thieves we've seen for ages, and they delayed them to 2018.

Then they finish with $499 XBO:X and instead of ending on a megaton announcement it's another multiplat that you can play on ps4 anyway.

It wasn't bad to watch, but it did NOTHING for Xbox.

You're right. Microsoft had a better conference for third party than they did themselves.

Evil Within 2, Dishonored 2 expansion and Wolfenstein 2. Bethesda has been on a roll this gen. They didnt need to have a stellar E3.

At this point Bethesda are more likely to release half-life 3&4 than valve are.

Honestly though new Wolfenstein, Dishonoured and Evil Within aren’t bad, we can’t get new Fallout, Elder Scrolls or new IP every year.

What seemed to be the most disappointing thing was their paid mods. What on earth are they attempting to do? This feels like a flop before it even releases. The PC community loves mods, but are they something players will fork cash over? Perhaps they are, perhaps not- I'm not knowledgeable enough to know.

They tried paid mods once before. They got laughed all the way off Steam.

Microsoft had no games I was interested in. And hardly any exclusives. The hardware was good though.

I wouldn't say it was awful, they kept it short and Evil Within and Wolfenstein look interesting. Sure it certainly felt placeholder and lack of real surprises meant it wasn't the greatest showing, but that's in line with their new way of thinking, as far as I remember they've been revealing games and releasing them within a year for the most part.

Yeah, it would've been great to see Elder Scrolls 6, but really was anyone expecting it, it was 4 years between Skyrim and Fallout 4, I wouldn't expect a shorter gap and if they truly listen to the feedback they might actually build a new engine so it could be even longer.

It's disappointing to see them trying to go down the paid mods route again, hopefully it will be killed off as quickly as it was the first time.

Don't ruin the moment

Currently Playing: Rocket League (PC/PS4), Dead Cells (PC)

Ah I see. I guess it was just me with low expectations and almost going in blind.

Pocky Lover Boy!

yeah, E3 so far has been woeful

Bethesda had two games I'm interested in, but they were known quantities so the excitement wasn't too great. They just needed one big surprise, but they didn't have it

Still no Elder Scrolls is crazy to me, will we even get one this gen? Hopefully it is the same situation as Fallout 4, and they announce it at E3 next year for release holiday 2018

Quake Championship (esport focused hero shooter, quake style) &  Wolfenstein 2 were the highlights of the show.

... most other things abit disappointing.

I didn't know Bethesda bought the rights to half life lol.
