Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nier automata director wishes for PS VITA 2 or at least a smaller version of switch, which is a bit too big for him ( as a handheld console ) !

Vita 2 Please , you hear that Sony.

Well smaller, cheaper, only handheld Switch is certain.

Cant believe no one has actually posted the Switch and Vita side by side

Looks like he knows where quality is! Good God a PSP2 would be amazing!

But... but... all the nintendo fans flamed me when i said it was too big and had poor battery life. Surely it was me that was wrong?! I must've paid this director to say these things. The hater! /rolleyes

PS vita 2 would be a hard sell, but if Nintendo doesn't come out with a sucessor to the 3DS, it is a great business opportunity for Sony. Might want to call it PSP2 though.

You are.

I hear opinions about Switch size a lot- but personally I think its the perfect size for a comfortable position in the hands and a fairly good screen size. I hated the 3DS double screens, they were small and unpleasant to look at.

Also couldn't stand how the 3DS button layout felt in the hands.

the nice thing about the Switch is it actually does feel fairly similar to a traditional controller in the hands, despite being spread out width wise a bit.

System is not too heavy, very easy to get used to.

I don't get all of the people who claim its too big for portability. who seriously throws ANY handheld gaming system in their pockets? I mean the 3DS and Vita were not that much lighter than the Switch nor would they realistically be comfortable in the pocket, not to mention who wants their portable system to scraped to hell by throwing them in the pocket?

I'm always going to put a portable system in some sort of mini carrying case or bag so the Switch is perfect. The Special Edition carrying case is perfect for carrying around too, kind of like a mini purse.

It's either pocket, or it's not brought with them. Most people aren't lugging extra bags. When they go to work, school etc. I never scratched my handhelds, in a pocket. The only thing I had once. Was my GBA SP's paint was falling off. Because the pocket got too warm. It smugged off the grey. From my NES classic.

Thanks for the pic, I was searching for such a comparison to put it in a discussion that I had about New 3ds xl closed vs switch, lenght or width ( depends on how you see it )...

I couldn't find any!

So, as the pics shows, without the joycons, Switch is not a lot bigger than a new 3ds or a Psvita, is not too big at all.

And how do you play the switch.. without the joycons? At least as far as handheld goes.

To play the switch with your hands.. you have to use the joycons. Thus the argument of removing them - makes no sense.

Seriously? The portability comes from being able to transport it easily, the screen has the size of my hand open, it fits in any place, then the joycons are ridiculously little, they fit also in any place. When you wan to use it, you waste like 3 seconds attaching the controllers and Voilà. I mean even with the Joycons is not too big to carry at all, similar size than most tablets today, but without the joycons is quite tiny.
