Forums - Sony Discussion - The Great PlayStation Exclusive Renaissance!

Let's face it - when it comes to exclusives - Sony's been killing it this year so far.  They've already released enough exclusives to match last year's output- and it's only mid-March!:

Game / Date (Metascore)

Gravity Rush 2 / 1/20 (80)

Tales of Berseria / 1/24 (79)

Yakuza 0 / 1/24 (84)

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue / 1/24 (77)

Nioh / 2/7 (87)

Horizon:  Zero Dawn / 2/28 (89)

Nier: Automata / 3/7 (88)

Danganronpa 1-2 Reload / 3/14 (84)

Last year was already a pretty good year for exclusives, and produced some great games and arguably the (and my own personal choice) game of the year in Uncharted 4:

Game (Metascore)

Gravity Rush Remastered (80)

Street Fighter V (77)

MLB: The Show 16 (85)

Ratchet & Clank (85)

Alienation (79)

Unhcarted 4: A Thief's End (93)

No Man's Sky (71)

World Of Final Fantasy (77)

The Last Guardian (82)

Even in the next couple of weeks- Sony's never-ending wave of exlusives continue with:

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix 3/28

MLB: The Show 17 3/28

Parappa The Rapper Remastered 3/28

Persona 5 4/4

Drawn To Death 4/4

What Remains Of Edith Finch 4/28

Danganronpa: Another Episode 6/27

Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy 6/30

Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age 7/11

It's what's in the pipeline beyond that that is most impressive - with a line of exlusives that will probably take us all the way through to the next console generation:

Days Gone

Death Stranding

Detroit: Become Human

Dreams

Final Fantasy VII Remake

God Of War

Gran Turismo Sport

Hellblade

Hot Shots Golf 7

Knack 2

Matterfall

Nex Machina

Spider-Man

The Last Of Us Part II

Uncharted - The Lost Legacy

Wild

Wipeout Omega Collection

I know some of these games are timed and/or console exclusives - and I've missed numerous other games - but this list is pretty god damn ridiculous!

That doesn't even include the next Sucker Punch game, along with Bloodborne 2 - both of which I'm expecting to be announced at this year's Sony E3 press conference.

Oh yeah- and there's also PSVR!

What do you think - could the PS4 end up having one of the greatest exclusives libraries of all time when all is said and done with this generation?

Greatness awaits!

I loved their exclusives on PS3. That's the reason I bought a PS4 at launch is because I knew of their amazing devs. Ratchet and Clank is my favorite series of all time so I'm naturally excited for Insomniac's Spider-Man and have loved Horizon. I even have enjoyed their lower rated exclusives like The Order which is a fun cinematic experience that I have replayed a couple times since release. Their focus on single player cinematic and TPS games is right up my alley. Hell they even had my favorite FPS of all time in Resistance 3

I am Iron Man

Geesh, No Man's Sky finished at 71? Talk about overrated.

Kinda pisses me off, makes a lot of other games look seriously underrated by comparison lol

Edit: Oh wtf, Slant Magazine (the Zelda=60) gave No Man's Sky a 90?

MY OUTRAGE IS REBORN!

I wouldn't call it a Renaissance if it never really stopped. Still, good job Sony!

I really liked The Order too and thought that including a young Tesla was fascinating. Still holding out hope for a sequel. I also think both Driveclub and Until Dawn were awesome games that were greatly underrated- and still think Bloodborne is game of this generation (so far).

Where?

Not literally, but it seems I see threads with the same idea very often.

To be fair, Sony isn't responsible for releasing the 3rd party exclusives, though its 1st party offerings have stepped up to the plate.

I must be behind the times, as I don't recall seeing a thread like this at any point in the last 12 months. Then again, unless it's a duplicate, I see no issues.

oh don't blame yourself!

Why would I blame myself?

There haven't been any topics like this recently.

you don't have to scour video game forums these days to find threads glamorizing metacritic scores. lol comment isn't meant to be taken literally. Really its just saying this obsession with one brands metacritic scores is posted a lot.
