Will it ever happen?

No 14 48.28%

Yes 9 31.03%

LoD 2 will 6 20.69%

Total:29

Edit: There are one or two Sony games that definitely deserve it. It just hasn't happened yet.

I don't expect it to happen this gen, either. There are more critics and publications than ever before and it's difficult to please everyone. The Last of Us Part II and God of War should score well, if their pedigree is any indication, but the focus on cinematic storytelling can be polarizing. Uncharted 4 suffered from lower-than-average scores based on being an "interactive movie" and for treating the player as a "passive...participant."

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 has 97,but still not won most of game awards, score don't matter when you see GTA IV with 98 and almost noone put it in a list of best games 7th gen,and no,I think never a Sony game will hit a 97

2 our of your first 3 games are not even Sony games.

On topic:
That said, I see no reason whatsoever that Sony cannot produce a 97+ scored game.  They have some great talent and many games have come close.  I'd say it's more a matter of when, not if.

Oh right. Duh. Well, from a first-party perspective then only Ico deserves it. You could count Demon's Souls if you treat Sony-published games as first-party.

Based on the meaningless Metacritic rating system? Any game getting 95+ in general is hard enough. 10/10 is meant to be perfect. If a game is marked as such then it is without flaws and I honestly doubt such a game exists.

Hmm, pie.

We already had this thread yesterday :P
