Will ANY Sony console EVER have an exclusive title that scores a 97+ on Metacritic?

Yes 65 49.62%

No 66 50.38%

Total:131

Probably no. There's no Sony product that has the insane cult of personality of a game like Zelda. TLoU may be the closest thing. I love Sony games nonetheless though, and love their all around library (I'm sorry, Knack).

The Last of Us Part 2 and Death Stranding are the only one's that have a shot.
Spider-Man and God of War IV could be a surprise if they are game changers.

Why is 97 a magic number?

Very much my curiosity on the matter.

Who cares?

Having a rating that high is just a numbers game, not an actual indicator that it's more fun than other games.

No.

They don't deserve it.

The Switch is here. Put aside your plebeian tastes and have some fine wine. :)

Carefully placed goalposts to single out Sony. It's all very odd.

No one cares, reviews are biased and they don't make a game any better.

maybe, maybe not

seems strange to focus on that exact score. Sony's first party has produced lots of great stuff, and while they haven;t made as much top drawer stuff as Nintendo, they are light-years ahead of MS (who, it is worth remembering, don't have a 97+ that one of their first party actually made)

and if you are looking for a next thread, how about

Will Microsoft or Nintendo EVER have a home console that sells over 60m again?

Dosen't matter really. Metacritc is silly and it annihilates critical thinking.

The sooner we achnoledge this, the better.

I imagine this was the thought process:

"Sees Uncharted 2 at #24."
Posts: Top 20 on Metacritic.
*Gets called out about multiplats and multiple versions of the same game.*
"Sees that this removes 14 games from the Top 20 list"
"Sees that Uncharted 2 has a 96"
*Hits the Edit button*
Will Sony ever get a 97?

No but seriously, will there be an exclusive 97 on PS4? Probably not.
But TLOU2 seems to have a good shot.
