Resident Evil 7 PS4 vs Xbox One - Sony's console runs game far better

How well does Resident Evil 7 perform on PS4 and PS4 Pro in comparison to the Xbox One? Find out below!

Digital Foundry has subjected Resident Evil 7: biohazard to an intense technical analysis across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PC, and Xbox One, concluding the acclaimed survival horror game runs notably better on Sony’s format in comparison to its lead rival.

The pixel wizards discovered that, while the Xbox One version is certainly no slouch in the visual department, the PS4/PS4 versions have the edge in terms of frame rate at a solid 60fps; the Xbox One version has been noted to dip a few times to 45fps, particularly during combat situations.

In terms of resolution, the PS4 edition of Resi 7 clocks in at 1080p, while the PS4 version of the game ramps things up to 2240x1260. In addition, if you’re playing on Sony’s high-end system, you will be able to enjoy added visual benefits, such as increased lightning highlight on various objects within the environment, such as trees.

You can check more information on Resi 7’s technical performance in the video below.

who's surprised by this? o_O; Not to mention, PSVR is the ultimate console version.

Surprised ps4 pro only ups the res slightly and adds extra specular highlights. I thought re7 was supposed to be native 4k on the pro.

Not if your playing the XB1 version on your PC since its play anywhere

We'll, then you'd be playing the PC version...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I realized it when I played the demo on Xbox One. To my eyes, it seemed like a big downgrade. Not sure if the final product was better.

this game NEED a DLC/Patch adding a 3rd person vision version of the gameplay.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure they made a special port, the XB1 Play Anywhere Definitely Not The Same As The Native PC Title Edition.
